I actually agree. I went to my first game this season VS Rotherham and thought Hartridge looked a liability. Many said it was his best game for us which is in my view gave even more cause for concern. He looks like he is trying too hard to be a "ball playing CB" when that is obviously not his strength. When centre halves roll the ball under their studs to gain composure, it just didn't look natural to him, often doing it just for effect and holding onto the ball that split second too long - resulting in a pass to Harvie that puts him in trouble instead.
It's easy to make a sideways pass and abstain from responsibility, thus making someone else look bad. Weight, accuracy and timing of a pass is SO important if you want to play out from defence.
In other news, I noticed we played Arctic Monkeys over the tannoy when the teams came out - was that to dig at Rotherham or did our PA team not know that the Arctic Monkeys are from Rotherham?
Maybe it's a brand recognition, they're from Rotherham but everybody's heard of Sheffield. A bit like London Oxford Airport or Mercure Sheffield Parkway.
They met at school in Stocksbridge which is a small town just outside Sheffield.
Alex Turner’s mum is a teacher from Amersham.
They do mention Rotherham in one of their lyrics ‘you're not from New York City, you're from Rotherham’ referencing the New York area of Rotherham where the football stadium is located.
@peterparrotface "Alex Turner's mum is ... from Amersham." Another one for your supergroup, alongside the drummer from Gene, Stan Erraught from the Stars of Heaven and the sousaphone player from Monkey Swallows the Universe. Shaping up.

Haha!
Fair enough 👍
Kodua should start ahead of McCleary now. I think he offers a lot more threat going forwards.

Aren’t they from Sheffield?
Thought they were so famously from Sheffield I had to check there wasn't some other Rotherham link @thecatwwfc is thinking of. Couldn't find one.

Are you sure? Even the wikipedia says Sheffield, with early rehearsals and their first gigs also in Sheffield
I'm sure they're from Sheffield but any chance to bring up the spacial dimension folding of London Oxford Airport (63.8 miles from London)!

You'll be telling me the Premier Inn Beaconsfield isn't in Beaconsfield next.
Stocksbridge also famous for Jamie Vardy of course

I was thinking at the time the DJ played the Arctic Monkeys song that they missed a trick by not going for Fake Tales of San Francisco.
The drummer from T'Pau is from round these parts isn't he?
Tim Burgess, the drummer from 1986-91, was born in Macclesfield!
He lived in Wycombe. @eric_plant is right.
I vaguely remember learning on the match day commentary one time that something something New York manhole covers something something Rotherham.
Thought so. Fairly certain he went to the RGS
No idea if that is true, but here is a video of the workers (some remarkably young looking) at the brass foundry that would have made them if it was

I think my brain may have shuffled that deck of facts.
