Samaritans score prediction - Blackpool (a)
First win of the season and some significant movement in the early table.
First of all warm welcome to first time predictor @ShitcagoWWFC - welcome aboard - almost compensating for the pain of no prediction from @Commoner @railwaybeth and @93Chairboy. Hope to see you back soon.
Congratulations to @Chris , @bargepole @Twizz and @railwaysteve for correct score predictions. All make significant moves up the table, @Chris taking the lead for the first time this season. Only he and the bookies have predicted all three results correctly so far.
We're off to the seaside next week - fish and chips, vomit slicks on the pavement, an ageing tower and turds floating by. Lets hope for another win.

What a delightful picture you paint @DevC of the Riviera of the North.
Colour me excited after that second half. Bloomfield Road to belong to Bloomfield‘s boys.
Tangerines 1 Blues 3
That is twice in ten minutes I have quoted @micra. If @DevC has put anyone off going and staying in Blackpool, amusingly this week theGuardian suggested Fleetwood at the end of the tram line as a place to visit / stay - https://www.theguardian.com/travel/article/2024/aug/20/where-tourists-seldom-tread-five-british-seaside-towns-rhyl-bognor-skegness
@DevC - thank you for the mention above and thank you for the idea of a 'highest position' column - on past form on this thread I have just reached mine unless we have a remarkably successful season. I think that column a good idea and I will pinch it for the Attendance prediction threads.
Blackpool away? Gotta be 1-1.
OK, I am going to make certain I predict this week by predicting on Sunday :) Richard Keogh's Blackpool 1 Wycombe 2, please
Either Dev’s highest position column needs some work or after two weeks at the foot of the table, a final positive result has seem me move up three places to 33, but my highest place was 31 🤔
anyway no point worrying about positions this early in the season, a
Blackpool 1 Wycombe 2
result will continue my surge up the table
Wow the giddy heights of 24th...
Let's see if I can not only get the correct result but the right score too this week, on which note i will go for
Blackpool 1-2 Wycombe
If anyone is thinking of making a weekend of it, I'd suggest St Annes or Lytham as much nicer than Blackpool or Fleetwood.
The Blackpool Pleasure Beach is secretly the best theme park in the UK.
Blackpool 1 - 3 Wycombe
After the first week there were only 31 entrants and hence you were ranked 31st of 31st. A few more have joined since hence third bottom is still lower than 31st! I have no doubt errors in this will be made later in the season but not this time!
Blackpool 1-2 Wycombe please
And after being bottom the first week I said “the only way was up”. I couldn’t even get that right!!! 🤣🤣
It’s going to be a long season……..
Blackpool 2 chairboys 2
Correct me if I’m wrong @DevC but is the deadline for predictions 11.30? I’d love to wait until I know the lineup before predicting as the availability situation is currently so fraught but I’m guessing that is not allowed.
One minute to kick off for score prediction. One hour to kick off for Steve’s crowd Prediction.
Aah, thanks. That’s interesting because if, for example, both Morley and Humphreys were in the starting lineup, I would be in a much more optimistic frame of mind, as no doubt would many others. Having said that, I think Humphreys in particular is likely to be on the bench, given that he is still recovering from a thigh injury and needs to be eased in with due caution.
Blackpool 0 Wycombe 2
Don't forget it's a 1230 KO @micra
Got visions of you looping round and round the big dipper whilst Wycombe are playing one touch in their own 6 yard box
Tricky early fixture. Won't let the euphoria of the weekend influence me.
2-2.
Bloomfield makes a couple of subs on 60 minutes after underwhelming first half...or something like that.
(Re the table DevC...I predicted a home win against Rotherham at least...does that not get anything?)
Blackpool 1-3 Wycombe
According to my records @Wendoverman , you scored -2 pts in wk 1, -1pt in week two but scored 3pts in wk3 (4pts for home win, -1pt for score differential).
-2+-1+3 = 0 season total
Hope that's more clear now.
D
Ha...never factored in negatives...it's my naturally sunny disposition. Thanks @DevC
Blackpool 0 Wycombe 1
Blackpool 1-1 Wycombe
Blackpool 0 Wycombe 2
Blackpool 2 Wycombe 1
Blackpool 1-1 Wycombe
Blackpool 1-1 Wycombe
All three results possible.
Going to go Blackpool 2 Wycombe 1
Blackpool 1 2 Wycombe
