Maybe a tad too early to know if he is being up front. Will be interesting to see if he shares details of any partners and how that all works.
Unusually self aware from that fan about The EFL letting them continue regardless, have certainly shown patience, their roll needs to be identifying wronguns and bad practice much earlier and taking action but that's down to the members buying in too.
Whilst I think we all consider Rob to be a stand up guy one has to wonder about the competence of the EFL if they are knowingly allowing him to be a stalking horse for parties unknown. Rob might get a tidy pay off but Reading could be left with a even worse owners. And let's face it the mystery of how to turn this debt ridden club into something functional remains so it is ripe for asset strippers not philanthropic investors.
From where Reading are, I fail to see how they can get worse owners. They are essentially currently insolvent and a hair away from not existing full stop
He did a grand job with us. But our issues had one less digit. Reading losing 1m a month will not be solved by selling some more merch and building a world wide Reading phenomenon
This is by no means meant to be a dig at Rob because I have nothing but love for the guy and what he did for us. BUT if the EFL let this slide through on the belief that HE is buying Reading it goes to show how useless their controls and checks are. He does not have the money to buy Reading therefore he is a Trojan Horse for others. And if that is the case why? Is it because those people would not get past the fit and proper checks? I am sure he is doing it for a healthy fee (and again why not?) but at the end of the day if the EFL believe Rob will be the owner and controller of Reading they are as high as f==k.
In which case it is dodgy territory again. If Rob has got a loan from a financial institute to make the purchase then that is fine (let me know which one it is so I can get a loan from them too as their lending criteria is clearly terrible) as he would have had to get through quite a lot of checks. But if the business plan includes income from ANON then the EFL should be all over this. And I am not saying this because it is Reading, I have no axe to grind with Reading, but the EFL has done pretty poorly on this front in recent years and has to to up it's game.
Do you believe Rob has £30m plus £12m a year to finance losses? I seem to recall his net worth being banded around when he took us over and it was less than that by a distance.

RC apparently being up front about sell-on intentions again.
EFL repeating the leniency they showed to
Bury, er...Bolton and Derby. To be fair to the EFL, Bury never presented a credible recovery plan.

You could say exactly the same about us.
Debt ridden when he came in.
Turned us into something functional.
Sold us onto owners we don’t really know anything about, but have hired a seemingly good guy in Dan Rice, so fingers crossed.

Yes yes.... but you all seem to be forgetting one thing Rob can offer Reading that is sure to pack the stands and bring in extra ££££
DAYTIME FIREWORKS!
Reading will never be a worldwide phenomenon. Genuinely impossible to imagine a duller football club
Bin fire of a club.
Rob has the perfect way to celebrate for them, although it might be a while until they have anything to celebrate.
I'd forgotten about the flaming wheelie bins.
They're not a good look after the shameful events in Southport the other evening.
Couhig close to £30M deal for Reading!!!
Rob is referred to as ‘American financier’ by Bloomberg. He was a humble lawyer before he bought us.
The most milquetoast club meets the owner with the most fireworks.
According to BBC Berks, the deal was due to be announced last night but EFL have reportedly asked for more regarding Rob’s business plan.
Sick reference bro. Your references are out of control. Everyone knows that.
Well, he pretty obviously didn't seem to have a spare £30m then so the league are right to ask questions.
I wonder how much he got for Wycombe?

Or is it that the men behind the purchase already own an EFL club?
Or women
It's technically illegal to own women.
😁- but just technically?

Not where I live.
(The above only applies to when I am in the Middle East not when I'm in Nottingham, where the women own the men)
How do you actually know he doesn't have the money?
