  • As Phil said, great overlapping potential from Harvie so far.

Could we have the Scottish Cafu AND the Scottish Roberto Carlos?

  • Very interesting that we have not used a lot of subs. I thought we would be getting a lot of minutes in legs. This may say a fair amount about who Blooms sees as the starters.

  • I did think this close to the seasons start, that our team today would probably be very close to who blooms feels is his 1st choice starting 11

Been impressed with Hartridge, has just quietly gone about his job, he clearly enjoys defending.

I would have 9 of these (including Sadlier) in the lineup, with just Butcher/Bakinson and Taffs/Hartridge as questions, personally.

A little disappointed not to see Udoh have a run out, though.

  • I think those questions are very fair @Shev

  • King Kone

3-1! Kone has that nose for goal!

Great work from the trialist, and unlucky from Leahy again.

  • Wow great awareness from Kone to follow that shot up to head home for our third

  • And looks like we might play a high pressing game. At least we have today.

  • Champions by Halloween at this rate.

  • I hope and pray we carry this form and mentality into the league. Well done lads, keep it up!

  • Great movement from Kone. You don’t see that often in league 1. Trialist has had a great spell so far.

  • I like how the trialist is getting stuck in and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t sign.

  • I got my happy ending!

A hattrick of hitting the bar from Luke!

I have never seen that from a single player, that I remember.

  • Leahys gets to keep the goalposts now

  • No coincidence. Push Leahy up and he nearly scores 3

  • Welcome back, Jasper!

  • Kone is simply one of those players who will score goals. He is single minded. And we haven’t had a player like that in years.

    15-20 goals. Get on it

  • Think the trialist is Darius Johnson

  • I'm not one to count my hens, and I know friendlies mean next to nothing... but this performance against a champion side... plus thrashing pompy.... another champion side.... does give me hopeful optimism for our season I must admit

  • I think/hope doing our business earlier than usual has given our players more time to gel

  • Same. And if we’d been soundly thrashed no doubt everyone would have written us off, so no harm in being positive about this cracking performance.

  • I think that’s part of the reason for 70+ mins of only one sub. We had a fractious pre season last season and Matt will undoubtedly have learnt the corresponding lesson

  • I am with you there! Also, instead of the transition of last season we have a large core who remained, and a much more confident manager with a team in his image.

We are even practicing our standing off a team to let them get back in the game at the death! 😅

  • Well.... we didn't want to really embarrass them did we 😅

  • I see there is a queue of cars trying to exit the top car park. We really are testing out all the systems, aren't we.

  • Watford Academy lost 2-1 at Chesham, to a last minute goal.
