Birmingham ask to play Wrexham in USA for a league match - EFL denies
Good on the EFL - if the lid is lifted on Pandora's box, it will never be closed again. It would also give some clubs a massive cash boost to play in a huge American stadium, not available to other clubs. It is definitely a concerning development that this is being pushed even at EFL level.
Mind you, Kazakhstan would produce quite the "home" advantage!

Should be an automatic 12 point deduction for even asking.
Absolutely ridiculous stuff.
It will come. We will be sold it on the basis that it’s a global brand expansion.
I’ve seen NRL and NFL games out of their respective counties and it is only a matter of time.
Unfortunately I can only see pressure continuing to be brought, especially with how many American owners continue to buy in. All major American sports are now playing regular season games overseas, and they are going to expect it in return. As per @TheAndyGrahamFanClub above, I also expect a lot of continued waffle about "the global" game to justify the prospect of having to be up at 2am to watch your team.
The EFL will need to stand strong, and I hope they do.
A UK football regulator which we have been promised should surely block this. Football isn't just about maximising revenue.
Whilst things do move on we must preserve some traditions in the game. Playing league games overseas would be way too far.
Also bring back cup replays and Champions League place for cup winner please.
I would love to watch us play Reading in the Michegan Stadium!
Bring back the Cup Winners Cup place for cup winners.
I’m looking forward to us taking both these Billy Big-Time clubs down a peg or two this season.
I wouldn't! But if that is your local stadium,I can see why you would.
Get used to some "Americanisation" if Couhig takes over @theRoyalBiscuit
You'll all be chanting "up the ding" before you know it.
You'll also have Kevin Couhig on co-comms saying you are not out of it when 5-0 down away to Huddersfield.
Optimism. Pass it on.
Not sure we would sell out the 107,601 stadium between us!
Oh I've been there! Great atmosphere.
Nicknamed 'the Big House' for good reason (it's big.)
Slightly smaller (just shy of 102,000), but I have always thought Tennessee's stadium looks awesome:
For the view though, Colorado University at Boulder is hard to beat, just up the road from me. I have never been to a college game, but would make an exception for this:
(makes note to self: "Stadiums of the world vote, summer 2025").
Austin FC’s stadium isn’t exactly a beauty, however it has a massive concourse with food trucks on it which is very Austin.
Could be controversial if we only consider football stadia.
It will never happen Mr shev
