Only just seen the above (starting Thursday) will be held in USA and include 6 CONCACAF teams. Will you be attending/getting the bunting out @Shev@floyd ?
I would have tried to attend a game, but just like the upcoming World Cup, Denver got skipped as a host city. I guess we haven't had a billionaire fleece the city/county/state for public stadium funds recently enough. Indeed, some say Denver needs a new stadium, despite Mile High being a beauty.
Piled High is the home of My Little Ponies and so unless I am lucky enough to have tickets to see Mad Maxx repeatedly slamming whatever 2nd rate QB the Ponies have got into the turf I shall never darken it’s door.
I don't watch the NFL any more, and never saw a Broncos game (I was a Carolina fan before getting fed up with the sport), but you have my commiserations on being a Raiders fan! That has been a tough gig for a while.
You do have what I consider the best branding in the NFL, at least. Only the Raiders could keep moving but still feel like the same Raiders!
I think the NFL just became too pass-centric whenever they began changing the rules to massively favour offenses after the Colts whined so much (2006?) and it has just become worse and worse, with really poor fundamentals. Fun to watch at times, but it is so hard to stop an offense now it is often who has the ball last.
Agreed - it is a passing game and arguably poorer for it. Which is a shame. I remember when running backs went high in round of the draft. Teams grinding out 80 yard drives with barely a pass was satisfying.
You are right about the brand. Generally disliked and almost always beaten.🤣
Interestingly, Chicago voluntarily withdrew fairly early in the process owing to FIFAS's lack of transparency over financial details. I saw it as a straight fight between Denver and KC for a spot, though one could argue Nashville too.
I did not realize Arrowhead was renovated so recently - they are already pressuring the state (and getting Kansas involved too as a possible relocation state) for a massive amount of public funds for a new stadium and/or renovations!
Yes, it has just totally lost balance. Kirk Cousins is worth many times more than the best RB in the league. No disrespect to Cousins for what he is, but ultimately it is a strong illustration of the imbalance!
With the Raiders, it is strange for you have gone from the worst stadium in the league to that absolute spaceship in Las Vegas, too.

I'm sorry Shev but having a wank in that stadium's toilets does not make you a member of the mile high club.
Worth a go though right?
You have some odd stadium priorities!
At least the loos look like they have a roof on them!
It always seems a bit more exciting when the CONCACAF teams are included. I’m looking forward to it.
It seems like a long term plan and would enrich it for me certainly. The Gold Cup is generally a USA v Mexico final
Superb scenes in tonight's game

Chicago's not hosting in '26 either. But Kansas City is only six hours away, so i'm planning on getting to one of the games there.

I can only imagine that the KC approval was a nod to the Hunt family, because it does not make sense on too many other levels.
Fan since 82. Started so well and has been fucking grim since. Although I have some hope with Antonio Pierce at the helm.

It’s central and they’ve got a recently updated stadium. I’d imagine that’s why they were chosen over Chicago.

I didn’t realize they withdrew. Imagine how dodgy your finances have to be for chicago to be nervous.
I think every NFL team is either in, or agitating for, a brand new stadium. SoFi and Mercedes Benz are like something from a different planet.
Very good point! "Chicago thought we were too corrupt." Does not bode well.
I went to the Oakland Coliseum about 8 years ago when on holiday. For an As game as it wasn’t NFL season. It was a horrible monstrosity of a ground.
The videos I’ve watched of the Vegas Death Star suggest it is quite the place.
@shev I've been to an Oakland NFL game there v la rams.
It was a strange experience
That's wrong it was San Diego chargers
At the new Vegas stadium? How was it?
Nah was in Oakland. Was that the rams?
Raiders
Yes thank you @floyd It was the raiders.
I was wearing some sort of Wycombe shirt and all the raiders fans in the car lot were abusing me as it looked like I was a chargers fan
Probably just for the insomniacs and sickos, but Panama v USA showing how entertaining two average teams going at each other can be
Nottingham Forest’s Matt Turner was subbed with an injured leg at half time.
