I was thinking more of where he will get the money to run them and make the requisite losses to shoot for the PL. Not everyone has 10 million a year to burn!
Rob Couhig is part of a consortium. He doesn’t have £30 million. James Earnshaw stated that Couhig was not part of a previously reported US-Saudi consortium (led by Marc Bircham).
What do you call a significant number? 100? 200? I doubt if more than three-four hundred DIFFERENT fans who abused him. Is that really a significant number from about 8-10,000 Home fans at each match and that doesn't include many, many more, who like me have to listen to the match on the radio/internet these days.
It was significant enough to seem like it was the vast majority of the Reading Fans on twitter that were very hostile towards him, and some wishing the death of his Nephew Pete.
A number of whom couldn’t even tell Rob and Pete were different people
edit: There many have been many different things i may have thought Rob was, or might have been while with us, but a liar was never one of them. So when he said he was making sure if we purchased the training ground the funds would go to ensure readings survival, I 100% believed him. I don’t think I saw just one Reading Fan that was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, or trust his word.
Rob is probably still making that documentary and the producers are looking for some dramatic tension to the denouement. Standing down as our chairman ‘for sure’ wasn’t a big enough ‘happy ending’.
Rob standing in front of the Reading ground looking up at the stadium as the sun goes down (and the credits role) is the teaser that series two needs to keep the viewing numbers up.
"Little did those death-threat biscuit munchers know, as they cheered the introduction of my consortium, that I was going to have my revenge, taking them down to L2 and then ripping off my dress shirt on the day relegation was confirmed to reveal a Wycombe kit underneath."
I can't see Couhig going it alone at all.... I don't believe (maybe wrong) that he can fund that sinking ship alone.
Also, if he can.... he could have carried on with us in pursuit of championship football or higher.
Would be very strange after mentioning his age and interest of being home more......
However I could see him as part of a consortium proposing a deal to buy Reading. He could then front some capital, but still potentially stay in the States the majority of the time.
Mikhail looks like with us he will be fronting the moolah but sitting more quietly in the background for instance?
If his spell with us taught him anything it would probably include football clubs being money pits, football fans being demanding and UK law and governance being lengthy and not always making a huge deal of sense. I was given to believe he had spent more than enough of the family silver but of course we have no idea what he got for his share in us, has to be a good chance it barely covers his outlay but equally much higher is possible. Also possible that his knowledge is valuable to interested parties and that a small investment and minimal input could be worth a lot more should the club become stable and successful.
I really can’t see Rob getting involved with Reading but if he did I would be somewhat disappointed.
The feeling I got when I listened to his last interview with Phil, was that he was going to take it easy and was looking forward to spending more time at home without the need to travel across the pond anymore.

Or Lomtadze is way stupider than I thought.

He's going to combine the two clubs!
Reading Chair FC?
If that happens we're going to need a bigger bedsheet
Remember the cryptic comment he made at the end of his 'farewell' interview: "you will see me again sooner than you realise"...
How did part of a consortium become buying Reading?
We don’t know how much ML paid him for us.
I was referring to the James Earnshaw tweet.
Edit: Which I misunderstood, sorry!
I can't believe it is enough to burn 10 million a year or so chasing the Prem!

Ah, that makes a lot more sense, thanks!

As the old Gasroom saying goes…
TACRITE !
FC Biscuit Wanderers has a ring to it
I just hope the bedwetters among their supporters were not the same folks who supplied the bedsheets...

As he bellowed at the top of his voice "YEAH! I'm a Wanderer!"

Indeed. This is all very true
'Reading fans have never been at war with Rob Couhig.'

Maybe they are going to merge Reading with Poxford and move them to Louisiana, which would be a great outcome for RC and us.
But maybe not for @theRoyalBiscuit.
It all makes perfect sense now!
Unfortunately Oxford have already stipulated that there are only five countries they would consider moving to. Their research is below.
You’ve forgotten Gibraltar
