I have a pal who supports Exeter and he says Alex was a big favourite with the fans, played mainly in the centre of defence and good in possession and evidently a nice guy which fits our philosophy. Also has a very long throw in technique!
Has captained them before so potentially another leader in the camp, which can only benefit the dressing room. Believe he has been with them for a very long time which is a good sign too.
Due to not signing a new contract Exeter did not play him much last season having brought in two left sided defenders in July 23 and January 24.
Seems well liked by Exeter fans and they generally agree he is a good League One player and possibly low Championship. Given 15 years of his life to Exeter as he joined at 10.
Has anyone told him we are miles from the sea, by all accounts he can be found surfing in his spare time.
This seems a sensible signing. Neither a Kazakhstani youth player or a cash splurge on a ‘big name’. Might I assume that the Facebook numpties are in meltdown as it wasn’t the latter?
In fact scrub the McCleary comment, it appears he's gone from posting "want to say a massive thank you to everyone at @wwfcofficial for the past 4 years".
For what it's worth, another comment from an Exeter fan, fairly balanced I think:
"My take on Alex Hartridge is that he’s got the potential to play in the Championship should he iron out some key issues. For me, his biggest problem is he can switch off and lose concentration which sometimes leads to conceding. I also think he needs to work on his distribution.
That said, he’s a proper athlete, is quite quick and will put his body in front of everything. He’s also left footed which is helpful when balancing your defence. He’s also young so should improve plenty in the future.
Overall Wycombe have signed a decent player and wish him all the best."

Any good?
He played 150 times for Exeter & is a left footed defender with a decent throw-in so more likely to replace Taf than Forino.
Don't know if he can play left back...

Sounds a very good fit for the team.

Knowing me, Knowing Blues…with Alex Hartridge. Fill in the punchline yourselves.
I feel as though there’s only one acceptable answer to this question.
the typical confused mix of:
those who rate him and think he should do better than us
those who don't rate him and are perfectly happy he's gone to us

Seems to have been well liked by Exeter fans, most think he could have done better than going to Wycombe.
Has a long throw as well.
Welcome to the club Alex.

He played really well against us on the opening day of last season at left centre back
With all this rain he’ll soon be able to surf over the pitch at the training ground!
Which training ground though ?
My wife's cat would have played well against us on the opening day of last season.
Just go down the Kingsmead, plenty of water on there for the last 3 months.
He's already buying into the Wycombe Way with not mentioning contract lengths...
"to be able to focus on my next....um...extended period of time"
Perfect

At least the Taf song works now. “And a Hartridge in a pear tree”.
They're too busy posting Borat gifs all the time.
Saw the update and assumed he'd be the left back. But no, a centre back.
Even if Forino stays that'd still be a solid basis of 4 centre backs.
No news on Forino of course, or McCleary yet.

No idea about Alex in particular, but in general he seems to be exactly the sort of player we should be signing.
And the fact it's May suggests he was near the top of Blooms' wishlist.
Just listened to his interview on the website. He sounds very Wycombe
that's a compliment by the way
Could it be followed with a post - "looking forward to the next 2?" ?
If we can get the entire ground shouting "Ah ha!" every time his name is announced I think he'll feel very welcome.
He's got a foot like a traction engine
