For me, the greatest degree of difficulty is Dale against Brighton, but then the overhead from Lonny is pretty unusual for us, and Dale's against Posh at Wembley had such a sense of occasion. There are a lot of nice first time strikes from the edge of the area, but I think those three will be the ones I choose between.
True - I always like goals where more than one player is prominently involved. Screamers from the edge of the area are all very well, but it is purely about one good connection with the ball. That goal was a very good one-two, scorching pace down the pitch, and a perfect finish.
Hope we're not going too early with this, still 3 games left! Wasn't Wing's effort on the last day at Pompey our goal of the season last year? Certainly should've been, although we were rather spoilt last season.
Such a beautiful flowing move, a great pass from Vokes and then McCleary (not our youngest player) outpacing the defence and scoring across the keeper.
Looked great from the away end and even better on tv later!
There was one season recently - I think 21/22 - where we led the league in goals from outside the area, and we just had an absurd amount of bangers to choose from.
Dale almost scored an even better one - I can't remember who against, but it was away from home - where he jinked through the entire team like Maradona and could just not get the finish.
It's just such a shame that Liam Bennett's late parabolic effort from the centre circle into the 6-yard box in the Cambridge home game bounced over the bar. It would have been the goal for all seasons.

bit disrespectful to Big Nige to even have a competition IMO
ps absolutely love GMac's goal at Cheltenham. Two old boys linking up, raging against the dying of the light

Lubala for me, more special as it was in front of about 1200 people
Super Nige!
Has to be Nigel doesn't it? Although in a regular season Bez or Potts would make it a tough choice.
Butcher's goal at Valley Parade was my favorite from a 'can't believe my eyes,' standpoint.

There was definitely one season where the club went early with the vote and someone scored a worldie in the last few games.
Nigel Lonwijk at Reading.
Wingy did indeed win last season, though there were a couple of notable runners up, such as Gape at Barnsley and GMac's trivela at Forest Green.
Too tough to call. The Vokes volley against Burton was sublimely cheeky though.
Nigel for me.
Taylor's in the pizza cup, followed by Potts, then Lubala 3rd for me
That's an incredibly good selection. I'll let you know my vote when I've grown tired of watching the montage on repeat - so about the end of July.
McCleary at Cheltenham for me.

Which manager was it that fined any player for shooting outside the box? Sanchez?
Gregory.
Dale Taylor against Brighton, I still can’t quite understand how he managed to do it.
Easily the best, he did it all himself, most of the others are just great strikes

I think Dale Taylor has a great chance of winning . Got to be between him and Nigel I think.🤔
100%.
Agreed

Nigel then Dale for me.
Liam Bennett ?
Thought he played for Cambridge.
Aah, silly me. Was it a back pass ?
