I thought Kone had a good game, especially given where was playing half a season ago. Didn’t look fazed at all. Forino and Nige were excellent. Sickening way to lose and much to ponder in the summer. Gah.
The season has turned out a lot better than it had threatened to go at the halfway stage. "Disaster" is about my least favourite word to describe anything related to on-the-pitch matters, avoiding being embroiled in a relegation dogfight is relative success compared to where we were at the turn of the year. Of course you can argue we've underachieved, but getting Bloomfield never promised to bring instant success.
We are still moving in the right direction. It was another good performance from us. Surprised a lot of you didn’t rate Kone. Think Peterborough’s back two were excellent. Knight had a great game
No complaints today. Thought we competed really well and for the first quarter of the game did exactly what we should have (apart from score).
Feel a lot more upbeat than I did after Sunderland (whilst recognising that the stakes are a lot lower).
No complaints about the starting 11 and I get why we went with the pace of Forino and Lonwijk.
We are a little way short at the moment of the best few teams in League One but 3 months ago we seemed an impossibly long way short of them.
And I disagree completely with whoever it was said what a disastrous season it’s been.
It has been a difficult season that’s for sure (and for a couple of months or so a depressing watch), but safety pretty much assured 6 games from the end of the season and a trip on a relatively warm, intermittently sunny afternoon to watch Wycombe at Wembley in a transitional season isn’t all bad.
I can't really feel that bad tonight about the manner of the winner when I think about how it took a last-minute winner very much against the run of play, to get us to the final in the first place.
This is football. It went for us in the Semi and against us in the final
Edit: My annoyance at Franco is also ebbing by the second. The cross was one of those that the player will always say they are aiming for that top corner as it is the area that difficult to defend against with the Tall players up for the corner. 999 times out of 1000 it goes over everyone, or its too close the keeper, or its not deep enough and defended easily, or it doesn't get past the first man (McCarthy, yes, I'm looking at you....). Sometimes its headed in by an on rushing 6 foot 5 centre back.
Kone was in Division 9 a few months ago. It's probably a good thing he had a decent but unspectacular game today. I'd like to get another season out of him before the bigger boys make a move for him.
The Sunderland game felt like an away game and we were there to make up the numbers. We’d given everything to get past Franchise. The way we played just confirmed it.
We had a great chance today and played really well, a shame it didn’t work out.
My word I’ve just seen the goals back again and I know I’m beating a dead horse but you’ve lost your minds if you think Ravi wasn’t at fault for both. Ludicrous. First one is right down the middle. How many times have you seen a league 1 goalkeeper let in the second one this season? Haven’t seen that for 10+ years at this level at adams park. Really poor.
Isn't that the beauty of football? We supposedly all watched the same game but opinions cover a spectrum from 'A great bunch of lads who were unlucky not to win' to 'a load of clowns who would have still lost if Peterborough hadn't turned up'
I'm in the very boring 'two similar teams but one was a bit more skilful and lucky' camp.
@Kim_il_Swan True, and I’m good with that. But @HolmerBlue seems to have watched not just a different game, but possibly a different sport, and @frequentstander apparently exploded half way through it.

He had a decent excuse to not be fully at it after a couple of weeks out.
Which made it even odder that we moved him to centre forward for an odd 10min spell after an ineffectual game out wide.

Couldn't see how we were going to score for a large part of the game.
Even when we did have it out wide you didn't think anyone was in there to nod it in.
It took a brilliant goal for us to score.
My 4th final at the new Wembley. 4th defeat.
Very disappointing. We gave it a good go but really lack pace up top. Kone is a decent enough target but barely quicker than Vokes.
Scowen and Forino were excellent but we had to do so much defending because we could t keep the ball.

What was the 4th one, outside of the 2 play off final defeats and today? Or is that with a different team?
I’m hoping it is just the injury and he’ll defy his age again.
it was odd putting him up top but, tbh, I don’t know what the other option would have been to maintain the system to we were playing.
Like I said, Taylor maybe, but I do think that role is his strength.
Stop going then.... bloody jinxing us!!
Euro 2020.

Euros the most painful. Then Southend. Then today.
Sunderland wasn't so bad. Just never felt like we'd win and we'd already had the highlight with the two Franchise games.
Motm big Chris.... what a blinder of a shift that lad put in for us!
Same for me. Need to sort his contract out.
one final thought for now....

Today it sailed in the top corner. C'est La Vie.
There's no comparison losing play off finals to this cup;.
Would have been a lot nicer to win of course, but is a game we can all pretty much get over immediately.
Those play off finals, especially the Southend late conceded goal and penalties were horrible.

Weirdly I'm more disappointed about today than the Sunderland game
I’m the same.

He's not in the same class as Low though
Certainly must have been a tough conversation with both Low and Taf.
Wind catches it horribly

Ditto... pick the right team, we could've won
Some mad old comments in this thread.

max is not playing as he demanding a big pay rise or he’s off to the championship
Surely not on this season's form.

Lovely to see Darius Charles there today. Got to say hello to him and have a brief chat. Sad to see he was walking with a pronouned limp.
