Very proud overall - we went toe to toe and could not get over the line. I think the knock on effect will be the rest of the season being more drab, but oh well!
Absolutely gutting, but let’s be honest, we were barely in it from 30 mins onwards.
I go back to my earlier post, I just wish we understood the value of keeping the ball. It’s been infuriating for years but at least under Ainsworth our bodies on the line approach meant we won games and things remained exciting. This tactic is never more exposed than in finals.
Time to remind myself how much I hate this competition now.
Ran out of gas. Plain and simple. Selection to me was right. Any changes would not have impacted the result. If Bez was available I reckon it would have been different but we had no pace on the bench to replace Kone.
Unlucky guys it’s always tough to lose a final even in this competition but to be fair you made the final which we didn’t and hopefully most have had an experience and a good day out. To be fair it was close and when you equalised late on I really thought the momentum would be with you and you’d go on to win but sadly not. Anyway I just hope you remember to do one for all us “Wanderers” including Sharon of course and take any frustration out on Derby on Wednesday? 😁
If we go out at any other stage of the competition, of course not. Losing a Wembley final always hurts, especially in that fashion, regardless of the competition.

Well done blooms. Fucking inevitable. That’s dog shit management.
Eh?
My biggest regret is simply that the amazing Taylor strike is relegated to a footnote rather than an iconic moment!
With hindsight you’ll all look back and think what the fuck was he playing at dropping the best goalkeeper we’ve ever had for a fucking rookie

There's always next year

I think Fran played mostly well, but Max does not let the winner in.
If this leads to Max getting his job back, that would be a silver lining.
You seem angry
I think we played pretty well, just had too much adrenaline behind chances and skied most.
Cool kids say Y'all nowadays
Lack of pace upfront killed us today.
Pace needs to be the number 1, 2 and 3 priorities next season .
At least we got a bit of entertainment. Does anyone *really* care that we just lost the pizza paint second-hand car trophy final?
Piss poor team selection coat us that. Lonwick and Forino over Low and Tafazolli... now way. Kone over Vokes, ridiculous.
I am finding myself surprisingly able of getting on with life!
I think the CBs did well. Fran was the one which bit Blooms in the behind.
He’s definitely not the best goalkeeper we’ve ever had.
Rav has done well in the games he’s played and deserved to keep his place for the final.
I thought Bloomers got it right today and was nothing between the two teams.
Got beaten by a goal that was never a shot but a cross that went in the top corner.
Thought that was great until Kone was taken off. A tactical nonsense after that.
I couldn’t disagree more. Forino MOTM for me.
Immediately switched to Spurs Forest to try and wring a few more pennies out of my Sky Daypass

Anyway. Back to the boycott
A goalkeeper friend of mine said Fran was at fault. Other goalkeeping opinions out there, I am sure.
Can't wait for Posh fans to sing "Bristol Street Motors Trophy winners, you'll never sing that" next season.
Note to self: Eat an egg fucking sandwich or something next year.

That's gotta sting. But the Cup run is something to build on for next season.
Frequent stander? Angry?
Only every single post ever.
What a brilliant Taylor strike that was. And what a shame it was wasted.
Didn't read any of the posts about the lineup but not sure why Taf and Low were relegated, not that it cost us.
But not sure why we played without a striker for 10mins.

We will try! Beating Derby would be a highlight of the season, especially if it sent Bolton up instead.
