He had a great year in 22/23 and signed a new contract in April 2023 based upon the season he'd had up to April 21st. At that point he was joint 4th in the clean sheets with Derby's Joe Wildsmith who had played more games.
I suspect he was given a much improved contract and rightfully so, he was brilliant last season.
I honestly think JJ was wasted on commentary on Saturday, delightful as it was to hear him. But of course we don’t know what his fitness status is currently.
I asked about this on Saturday. Apparently Wembley have moved the goalposts and now don't to open up Tier 2, believing we won't sell enough for them to justify opening it.
This was always my suspicion. Outrageous really - the purpose of the final is not purely to ensure each tier of Wembley operates at an independent profit.
It is Wembley's remit to optimise their profit, servicing an unprofitable section of the ground, by definition, compromises that. Cant blame them, we need more fans.
With only a very limited number of tickets now available though, it's a worry that some fans who want to go, won't be able to. A ridiculous situation in a 90k seat stadium.
I did notice when I booked yesterday that there was 1 block with loads of cat 1 seats available, but don't think there was much else other than single seats.
JJ may lack pace (some say he always did) but he’s a wily competitor who in quite recent times has made vital last ditch interceptions. If he’d been playing left centre back he would have provided better cover than yesterday’s incumbent.
If you look on the Wembley ticket map we have 100's of tickets left but the lower priced tickets have gone. Probably 10 pairs of seats and a few trebles together but that's it in Category 2. If you're going as a 4 its £240 for the privilege and only Cat 1 available. Those who waited for Tier 2 and the better view and seats are going to miss out.
Agreed. Not quite sure how the logistics work but just open one concourse section (guess they'd be able to block the rest off) and make them the cheap ones right behind the goal. Then there's price point options for all.
We’ll never know of course but I still maintain that whoever was playing in that area of the pitch (essentially Tafazolli, Leahy and Sadlier on Friday ) would have needed to concentrate their attention on Kamara from the first indication (minutes from kickoff) that he was their danger man. He’s only 20, for goodness sake.
My apologies for having accidentally slipped from the matchday thread to the Wembley seating thread. But, who knows, the same trio who played on Friday could well be lining up against Peterborough next Sunday and there could be a posh wide right player already licking his lips.

Did the club say it was a "multi" year deal? Or was it one of their classic "he'll be here next year" jobs?
I think if we can keep an established regular back four, Max will be fine.
i think all that faffing around with five ever-rotating defenders in the first half of the season knocked his confidence a bit.
His distribution may not be the best but if it discourages us from passing it 10 yards to a defender every time I’m all for that.
So what’s going on with the second tier?
10 yards to a defender capable of passing to a midfielder (or progressing into midfield himself) versus a long kick to no one in particular?
Your point about back four stability is key. Grimmer, Low, Tafazolli plus A N Other. Just the job.
Depends how wedded Blooms is to playing out from the back. If that's truly his philosophy, we'll need a new 'keeper.

Prepare for a shock return tomorrow?!!
JJ up against Kamara would have been an absolute horror show. Thank the lord he was on comms
Mick George is a skip hire company
So we've got the least tinpot sponsor of the three

I've caved in and got my tickets yesterday!

He might just have been too good for whoever we had playing there. It happens.
Yep, that was exactly my thinking for getting in now and booking. Very limited availability outside of category 1.
They should open up tier 5 with category 5 and 6 tickets. They won’t though as that makes too much sense.

Max’s short passing and throwing is fine, so not quite following this.
I don't know about that - Ravizolli is superior in that department imo (but also not the answer as number one). I think we could definitely upgrade.
So we get rid of a goalie because he cannot play the style of football the manager was criticised for before he abandoned it to great relief? 🤔
Well said, @Wendoverman.
I think we’re going to lose , but I’ve just bought two tickets anyway.
Super fan me.

Wycombe’s Wembley ticket page at https://www.wwfc.com/news/2024/february/22/we-are-off-to-wembley/ states that “Level 2 (two blocks at a time) will become available once 90% of Level 1 has been sold. Level 1 contains approximately 15,000 seats.”
Wycombe have today announced that over 14,000 tickets (or 93% of Level 1) have been sold. Level 2 remains off sale, reasons unknown.
Kwame Poku for example.
I’ve caved and bought 5 seats near the half way line.
Maybe it's due to the time of year 😉
