Man of the Match - Reading (A)

Fair play to Reading, and hopefully they can get a new owner and stay up.

  • I went Franco, as I thought he was excellent and steady. Nothing he could do about the goal.

  • Scowen. So clever at this level. Plays the refs like a fiddle. Superb.

  • Scowen. Always Scowen.

    Lubala also excellent.

  • Shout out to Lonwijk for his play at both ends, though.

  • Some excelllent performances in the first half from Potts, Lubala, Longwijk and Scowen. But went for Taf as he was immense throughout the 90 minutes.

I agree @Shev although Lubala had an excellent all action match, covering every blade of grass, and putting the penalty away with a plum.

There were 14 heroes out there today.

Long delay posting this because I had to go and check how many subs we used to finish second “paragraph” and got thoroughly distracted, not least by the Barnsley v Lincoln result.

  • Glad to see someone choose Taf. Thought he was absolutely excellent.

  • Aplomb.

  • Taf was absolutely immense. Headed out everything

  • Went for Bez, absolute handful today and that celebration was glorious.

  • Bez for me too. How long since a 'keeper won it @Shev?

  • Taf - a massive leader on the day.

Max has actually managed 5 wins this season. Well done to Ravs, though!

  • Or the inevitable wave of democracy, although he did his best

  • Taf for me, thought he was an absolute rock at the back. It was a much needed performance given he had an inexperienced keeper behind him and a new and untried partner alongside him.

i thought the shape was good today, moving from 4-2-3-1 to more of a 4-3-3, with Butcher and Scowen playing ahead of the deeper lying Potts.

It largely worked well and made us a bit harder to play through, particularly away from home. Will be interesting to see if Matt sticks with it.

  • TAF. That’s all

  • Lonwijk…did his job…and what a goal!

  • I just imagined you were saying "a plum" in an Irish accent.

  • Franco for me. Made some great saves, and looked so much more assured than last week.

  • The Pasta boys take 1st and 2nd.

  • He’s very rarely beaten in the air.

  • McCleary got my vote, he had their awful left back in knots, who later gave away the pen. A mention though for Taf who was outstanding, particularly aerially

  • Sure, tis mrs moicra that has the oirish accent.

She thinks yellow lines mean no parking and double yellow lines mean no parking at all at all.

  • Ravs for me. but I could just as easily given my vote to Tafs as they were both immense!

  • I went with Fran, thought he was very solid and a couple of great one on ones saves when they were through, made himself nice and big. Although Taff was great yesterday, I think if Fran hadn't of made one of those saves we'd have lost. So he gets my vote.

  • I went with Butcher as he did the clean up work without being noticed.

A real asset to our team

  • When GMac got subbed off, the whole stadium rose and gave him a standing ovation…what a player!
