I am pretty sure that the London Stock Market and latterly the New York Stock Market would have looked into Mr Lomtadze’s business in detail prior to the IPOs.
Hear hear. There are genuine concerns to have without making shit up and posting it on the public internet.
Personally I think billionaires should be abolished, there's simply no reason for any one person to need or have that much money. Obviously the best ways to abolish them are either guillotine or the draining of their funds through a lower league football club until they're a mere multimillionaire.
He would have ten years ago when he looked like a nightclub bouncer poured into a suit but nowadays he's wearing the t-shirt of the truly rich and somebody's taught him to smile a bit in interviews. But you don't go from selling stuff in the street with your dad to make ends meet to being one of the richest men in the 'stans without having...determination. 'Behind every fortune is a crime' and the question isn't about 'ethics' it's about whether a small club like ours needs a billionaire in the first place.
Links to dodgy former Kazakh Dictator/President who was a close Putin ally is all I can find...although there are some questions about how shares were distributed between him and his partners or something. (Finance is not my strongpoint)
If anyone can get to the bottom of corruption, dodgy payments and links to extremist foreign leaders it's our government.
'the question isn't about 'ethics' it's about whether a small club like ours needs a billionaire in the first place.'
In my time on the Gasroom, posters didn't like Hayes, thought the Trust were crap and haven't liked Rob - all of whom were accused of trying to control. not knowing what they were doing or risking the survival of the club one way or all three. I assume like trevorbluenotes constantly attacking the manager and players it will go on that way until Hennig hits the big time in a Marvel Franchise.
I think this is a bit unfair, there’s always been loads of really fair, balanced comment on the Gasroom on Steve Hayes, the Trust and the current owners.
Yes there’s also the hotheads and the jumpy bunch but the posters you speak of aren’t representative for me.
Exactly I’ve spent quite a while looking for a reference in Hansard and there isn’t one. How some posters are surprised when they are dismissed as BS merchants after making stuff up to make a point I don’t know.
Dennis Bergkamp and Ronnie Koeman are still looking for a league 1 or 2 team... was in the Daily Star(I don't read it, was just shown it) just the other day !
We had speculation on here only a few weeks ago that the Cowley brothers were going to be owner/managers. So I think an insanity defence should get us off the hook.
I'm sorry, you're all correct, I misread the article - it links Lomtadze to a former business associate who was named by Margaret Hodge but he wasn't named himself. Mea culpa.

Exchange that is.

Margaret Hodge is not a member of the government
This is fun!

Named in Parliament I should’ve said.

Makes you wish for the glory days of Ivor Beeks which was like a golden time in our history
(Drops bomb and scarpers)
Was meant lightheartedly @peterparrotface in the face of distrust of our latest 'owner' hence the mention of Hennig becoming a billionaire.
Sorry if it failed the EFL balanced and nuanced posts test 😉
I think I missed the Golden Age @Malone

I assume Forbes are spreading malicious gossip then!

I accept this is an old article @drcongo
As a word of caution fellow gasroomers, just be a bit careful about putting unsubstantiated claims on here about very rich people.
We’ve no idea what’s really going on or how this will play out.
Very rich people also have very expensive lawyers who are even better than Bargepole.
It only mentions Lomtadze in passing.

Don't understand why Groupthink is always getting after Aloysius, didn't understand why Marlow Chair was chased out either.
If anyone is still reading, Red Notice by Bill Browder and Kleptopia by Tom Burgis are highly recommended.
Given Directors, have previous in recommending individuals wanted by the Police as future custodians of the club, my question is this:
Has every Trust board member, especially the Trust board members who sit on the WWFC board, done their due diligence?
