In my time I missed Southend for Paul McCartney at the o2 and missed Oxford because of some fabled disease which was part of a global conspiracy to make us all sterile/servile/army robots with internet vaccines.
I've watched last night's winning goal a lot today. I think the commentators were right when they said his first touch wasn't great.
But I also think if he'd controlled it perfectly he wouldn't have scored. The first touch took him wider than he wanted but it opened up the angle for him to stick it in the corner without two defenders in the way
I think it was the best performance of the 6. And I struggle to think of us playing better in a big game that I've attended - and against another very effective team in good form, too. The flair we played with and the belief among the players ... It was an amazing day - and definitely my favourite Wembley day, despite the fact that at half-time I felt as bad as I've ever felt at a match, with us 2-1 down.
I suspect Matt & Alan (?) Cecil might be able to add Oxford 2020 to that list. Is so and Alan went in 1957 he would be unique amongst Wycombe fans in having the full set.
Yes, I was there and saw several of the other games in that run. Ilford in pouring rain and the semi at Highbury come to mind. The match against the Ugandan touring team was great fun for the crowd but not the tourists in bare feet who couldn't stand up on the slippery turf.
Funnily enough, and I am not exactly an optimist (since M£t P@l!c£ anyway) I actually felt and knew at half time that we would win that game. We were genuinely playing superb football that afternoon.
I actually ended up watching the game (well, the last 20 minutes) in the House of Lords Bar ("The Woolsack") in the Palace of Westminster, situated directly underneath the Central Lobby. I had resigned myself to missing the game, and I couldn't believe they were showing it in parliament!
My loud celebration when Butcher scored completely silenced all of the conversations going on around me, and there were a few comments along the lines of "I didn't know anyone supported Wycombe" or "Bloody hell, I didn't realise anyone was watching!".
To make things even sweeter, The Woolsack closes at 10pm, and the barman had told us that they were going to kick everyone out in 5 minutes, as the clock ticked past 90 mins. I told my mate (who'd invited me there) that we now had to score in injury time or else we'd miss the penalties. Lo and behold, Butcher sticks it in about 30 seconds later! I was absolutely buzzing all the way back home from Paddington

Haha if you were just a glint in the eye, there is no shame in that.
Probably my favourite..two streakers and local hero Mark West scores a diving header

So my only one was Sunderland...
Oxford comes close because it brought joy during a difficult time for everyone. And I got to celebrate it in a Marlow bistro

Funny old game really
Although Preston was possibly the greatest Wycombe performance ever
Now there's a claim...!

You are including the 57 Wembley Amateur Cup Final.
You could probably count the number on your fingers and toes as most will have to be 75 plus.
That's the perfect excuse for this
Bishop Auckland 1957

Not seen that before!
Thanks for posting.
Can't claim to have been there but I've done ...
Kidderminster 1991
Runcorn 1993
Preston 1994
Southend 2015
Sunderland 2022
Plus both the 5-a-sides in 1994 & 1995

I've done the same list as you @Twizz
Actually, I tell a lie. I think I only did one of the London Fives.
3 out of 6 for me. The 2 Trophy finals and Sunderland. Missed Preston and Southend due to work. This year work can do one
2 out of 6 for me - I wasn't born for the first 4
You were born in 2016?
That explains a lot.
There can't be many who can claim to have done 1957. @wingnut maybe?
Me too, though I’m in Thailand in April.
Looks like Man U v Liverpool might be on Sunday 7th so that will make it difficult to watch at a pub when everyone else wants to watch the other game.
I've done all 5 final's , but watched the 5 a sides at home on sky

Best ever Wycombe goal was scored that day by Dave Carrol after his incredible mazy run!!
(I did know - but i was trying to be funny…
One day. One day….)
Definitely pulled a muscle celebrating last night’s goal. I’m 39.
Sadly not as couldn't make the 5-a-sides due to work for me and school nights for the young boys.
For the Oxford game in 2020, Matt was there as HOM but I was with the rest of family a few miles away watching on tv.
In 1957, I was only 3 and not supporting any team as yet!
So just the other 5 for me - about to become 6
How many of the other Wembley trips have you been at? (and will you be at this one?)

Done the 5 Wembley Stadium finals not the Wembley Arena 2 though.
But… looking at that list and adding
Peterborough 2024
… It has been less than two years since that Sunderland game???
How is that even possible? It seem a long, long time ago to me

Have we found Steve Baker's friend? 😊
