I'll take a wild swing to add to this. Whilst it is very common to have overseas based directors of UK companies there are more complex rules relating remuneration etc. Might be just a simplification of their process.
or they sold the company to a Nigerian guy they met online who's uncle was recently involved in a tragic air crash.
I have no idea. I imagine its because a sale is imminent although even then directors would normally only resign when deal is completed and new ones appointed and normally all selling shareholders would go. It is very odd. If I had to bet, but this is not based on any knowledge, I would say Rob has sold a controlling stake probably to the Georgian guy but will retain a minority stake and stay on the Board with the Georgian guy and associates appointing sufficient directors this week to control the board. Pure guesswork though.
Directors are not personally liable for Company debts except in very rare circumstances.
I would rather have these guys running the club than the majority of owners in the EFL. Put their money where there mouth is and pretty open in general. And they have just invested heavily in the January window. So I don't think their is any cause for worry.
I’m being facetious, but we obviously can’t have signed the proven quality of Matt Butcher with thin air. We’re barely averaging 4,000 home fans a game at the moment.

If that was the case, could @AlanCecil clear this up? Are they still around or have they left all of their roles?

Doesn't it simply mean that Pete and Missy are no longer personally liable for any debts etc?
No
Why do you think they have resigned then?

Is it their money that has been invested though?
Is Missy, Rob's daughter or Wife / Partner? I noticed on the company holdings site that there is only 4 years in age between them
Pete's role was marked as Football Executive so that leads me to think that he has left his role as Sporting Director
Wife

He was signed on a free as Plymouth released him from his contract, plus we also had the money come in from the AHH sale
