I’m not sure there is one. If we can’t beat bottom-of-the-table, winless in eleven Fleetwood Town, against ten men for an entire half, at home, then it’s difficult to see where the next win in coming from. And we need at least five.
I believe this is half the problem. People being happy to get relegated just so that they don't have to call for the manager to be sacked because he's a nice guy. Our owners have the same issue, and it's going to take us back to League 2.
Happy? You must be joking. Being relegated to League 2 will be a (footballing) disaster for our club. It’s genuinely upsetting and affects my mood and ability to sleep every day.
I’m just a fan, like you, with no power or influence whatsoever. It’s of no consequence whether you or I call for Matt Bloomfield to be sacked or not. It’s the owner’s decision and he’s stated his position. Which is one of the reasons why we’re done.
I disagree. It's been proven in the past that fan pressure can influence an owner's decision. Whether that's booing, whether it's voting with their feet, whether it's being vocal at Trust meetings etc, it can happen and has done many times in the past. If we just carry on happy clapping on a Saturday "oh, at least he's trying" etc, then why would Couhig bother to make a decision? If fans think Bloomfield should go, they need to make their voices heard.
There’s already plenty of people doing that. I don’t feel the need to add my voice, especially as the results and performances speak for themselves. If they’re not enough for the owner to act, he’s clearly not to going to be influenced in the way you hope.
I completely agree that the first-half performance was akin to that of a pre-season friendly! I must admit that I was flummoxed to find out that this was fuelled by adrenalin!
Also, that the fans at Leyton Orient were such a problem. Yes, towards the end, some showed their disappointment but the players were given incredibly good support up until then. Still the same old stuff on the pitch though...
I note that it cost me £34 for that match compared to £47 at Wycombe for equivalent seats...
To be honest, I could go on and on and on. Others may well feel differently but this is my worst time as a Wycombe fan.
I think it’s more about the respect so many have for Matt and his 20 year commitment to this club that they find the current situation so difficult. As must Matt who would move heaven and earth to get us moving up the table.
These aren't my predictions @Malone, it's been posted by the former Gasman from this link: https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/stevenage/league-table/predicted
It includes the predicted results, which I believe even includes us picking up draws against Peterborough, Derby and Barnsley.
Actions speak louder than words. Any other club would've sacked a manager for a run of 1 win in 17 that takes a team from the outskirts of the play offs to staring relegation in the face.
Most other clubs wouldn't let it get to 1 win in 17 in the first place. Why are we so determined to be different? Swallow your pride, Couhig, for goodness sake.
I agree with you in part. I think he still enjoys the support of the senior pros in the squad. Part of that is probably loyalty and the same desire to see him succeed shared by most supporters.
The trouble is that confidence is now shot to pieces. So while they may not have turned on the manager, there just doesn't seem to be the belief in the team that we can go out and win games.
My guess is that we'll survive by a thin margin simply because the league is so poor and we have enough good players to drag us to a 20th place finish. But it will be horrible to witness and we'll grind it out it uninspiring fashion.
And let’s be fair, Alan Smith wasn’t a very nice man, so ,playing record aside, he was toxic and needed to go.
whatever our opinions are about Matt as a manager I think we’re all agreed that he is a nice ,decent ,honest guy which makes the debate about him all the more painful
A couple of random thoughts from yesterday. I don’t know who their No 5 was but I thought he did a good job with the referee. Reminded me a bit of Paul Hayes and his always being in the ref’s ear.
I am also curious as to why there wasn’t a booking for the second penalty. There was for the first handball (which I thought looked harsh) but not for the second one (which looked more deliberate to me).

It is ! I stand corrected

We’re done. We’re toast.
And yet you said you wouldn't call for a change in manager?
I did and I still won’t be calling for Matt Bloomfield to be sacked. Whether he should be is a different question.

Do you get extra fan points for refusing to say he should be sacked?
Hope your not losing sleep over it!!🤣

How many points do you need to be able to afford to buy a banner?

Agreed. And it doesn't have to be done in a nasty manner (though some will inevitably take it too far).
Hasn't had much affect at Reading!
Probably the most extreme of all examples.

I stand corrected on Adams. I would never expect Matt to walk out.
Does RC saying Blooms is keeping his job mean anything really?
He's got to publicly back the manager if asked.
The alternative is to say what, exactly? 'We don't really rate Matt but I haven't found anyone else yet'.
It's always dreary sifting through stats as you can "prove" all sorts of stuff that deflects from the overall picture
Take "supreme" manager Klopp managing to finish lower than United "hapless" managers Van Gaal, Mourino, Ole and Ten Hag in 4 separate seasons.
But...to be way lower in points than disastrous Smith is quite something!

Cam we counter balance this by just getting someone else to do the predictions?

12 more points sounds about right
On current form, that Respect is relegating us.
