I do agree that left back should be top priority, but I still don’t think we’ve got sufficient quality up front. Kone looked sharp in a pizza cup game but we still need an alternative to Vokes as a second priority.
Without wanting to spoil the party... Uche has scored one goal so far this season for Port Vale and hardly played in Turkey before that. Is he still a good option to have?
Vale fans on twitter saying they would be sad to see him go as they feel he has just got fully fit. maybe similar case with Lyle, felt he needed more time to get fit as he got himself a goal and assist at the weekend on his debut for Cambridge. Same this weekend if we can get this over the line today please Uche.
personally i feel we need another option to Vokes. he is 34 now and has shown he is prone to injuries. Uche and Vokes interchanging during games with Kone too. Hanlan to come back into the fold next season. very promising attack.
Wherever he goes, it sounds like Port Vale will have done a similar job with Uche as we did with Lyle. Kinda hope, if not to us, he will have moved on before Saturday. Otherwise, we know what will happen and it only takes one goal to deny us at least two points.
I’m neutral on this one. Seeing Koné last week against West Ham, he struck me as being in much the same mould as Uche.
According to Twitter, it looks like Portsmouth, Charlton, Derby and Bolton have quite a bit of money to spend. I thought most of those clubs were hard-up for money these days (We all know that Derby will be altering their accounts to make it seem like nothing dodgy is going on)
I wouldn't be heartbroken to see him sign for Charlton. I feel that although I am sure he could add SOMETHING to the team I do wonder if it is a case of signing another decent player and not signing a decent player we need for the team. How are we going to play him? How does he fit in with the other signing? What are his strengths and do we play in a way that utilises those strengths? He is going to play with or instead of Vokes? After signing 4 attacking players so far in the window is the squad imbalanced? With stats of 2 goals in 2 years is he really the man to unlock teams where we have come up short?

I'm all here for an Uche-Kone chaos strikeforce
+1
'We're going to score more goals than you.'
I'm in.
Haha yeah... its very Ossie Ardiles !
If we want to score more goals though, don't we need a new goalkeeper?
I joked last week that John Gorman was coming back, maybe Gormania is.

In the last few years he's been averaging 1 goal every 10 games.
Hmmmm
PNL just spent £400K on Goodwin.

Left backs are boring, let’s get Uche!
Imagine playing him at left back. Would be an NFL style block!
God, yes.
"He's tall and beautiful ..."
Charlton in advanced talks with Uche, looks like he is heading to the Valley
I think this is worth following up in the Summer if we decide to release Vokes?

Uche was that one player I/we never got to see play live and thought we got the best out of him
id love to see him back but think that’s my heart more than my head.

Bolton must be minted from the tooth brothers

On saturday we ended with seven at the back and it didn't work, let's go with 7 forwards and see...
I am amazed people brushed off this brilliant pun!
I didn't even realise myself!
I’m sick to the back teeth with folk implanting floss into this pun-ditry. It’s just filling a gaping cavity in what is an already painful thread.
The thread is certainly decaying.
Rinse you mouth out and spit into the bowl
Gasroom swapsies thread for the Euros??
On a serious side of things
Didnt Blackpool lose in the FA Cup last night?
