I think it is only right Dobbo and GA felt some emotional wrench at leaving...but for me the idea a grown man was forced reluctantly to go is as silly as Dobbo winning games because Gareth was out with his back or Rob C explaining/threatening GA about winning games and thereby forcing an upturn in results.
However if Dobby could drop a cake on a Derby striker as he prepares to shoot on Saturday that would be magical.
I am imagining a kind of romcom/romantic drama scenario.
DOBBO: "Do you think it is possible to...love two clubs at the same time?"
GARETH: "Yes - it is something I am struggling with too. But in my heart of hearts, I am already going to be with QPR."
DOBBO: "How can you make it sound so easy? Every time I think of leaving Wycombe, with all the memories we have shared, I tear up a little."
GARETH: "You can run to a new love while cherishing an old love at the same time. Come with me, my friend. QPR is waiting. We will make new memories...wonderful memories."
I would say so. I think their larger concern is that most of those points came off the new manager bounce. I think it is 1 point from their last 5 now.
I was chatting to a Swindon supporter this morning. He said they are very light on attacking players with only Charlie Austin who runs out of gas after an hour. He also said they are a shambles at the back.
whoever goes there will want to make signings up top but they could be vastly improved by getting the defence organised.
Interestingly pulled a face when I suggested GA could be incoming Might suit TJ on loan
I hope that when he decides to return, GA goes to a team that needs a restart and will give him the time and back him and Dobbo to do it...rather than join the usual faces in the roundabout of regular appointments and sackings, however lucrative.
I’d like to think GA could do better than Swindon. QPR are an utter shambles under their new boss. I don’t think that experience should have devalued his worth to the point where he is only capable of being offered a management role of a bottom half League 2 side.
They were by far the better side against Watford yesterday and only lost through two worldies from Livermore (their only two shots on target) and a couple of world class saves from Watford's keeper.
Good opportunity though. Club going nowhere currently so likely to get time to turn things around, yet more than 7,500 went to their last home match, so not far off double our crowds.
Yes, it's a weird one. The new manager has 13 points in 15 games, whereas GA had 14 points in his last 15 (spanning two seasons). But evidently they look a lot better under the new guy.
Swindon have had 7 "permanent" managers from 2020 onwards, which is probably not a good sign, as they are almost averaging one every six months. Everything else about the club (size, potential, location) looks like a good fit for GA, but the ownership seems a little nuts, unfortunately.

Some have made our former assistant out to be HP's Dobby rather than Dobbo. He's old enough and experienced enough to look after himself!
We could do with a bit of the acual Dobby's magic at the moment tbh

too right!
Also it is possible to be quite upset at leaving Wycombe, whilst excited at going to your boyhood club.
However much of a gubbins outfit they are.

And had two different jobs here before Ainsworth had even joined
Now the new manager bounce has disappeared, it is just four wins in nine games for the new QPR manager despite a kind run.
Bloody hell we would be happy with that instead of not winning in 10 League games.
We would if it didn't equate to 3 wins in a couple of weeks and maybe one every 6 months either side of that
Why did Ainsworth leave Wycombe?
Think on your sins
I will seek you out across the valley terrace violently
Shame
To get to the other side
13 points in 12 games now for Cifuentes after another terrible defeat. Wonder what Ainsworth makes of that?
It has definitely been on the poor, thin squad more than anything. GA did not do well, but it was a poisoned chalice.
Am genuinely wondering if that's good or bad for them.
Over a season that'd probably keep them up right?
Hull haven’t helped them. Down to ten men in the first half and an Ingram error means Sheff Wed have picked up three points.

Swindon Town have sacked Michael Flynn. That looks like the kind of job Gareth might be interested in.
Commutable from home (fire up the Mustang) and an underachieving club that you could do something at.

Was the pulling a face comment just for Gaz going in? Or for the TJ loan?
No midtable L2 club should even dream of turning Gareth down.
On the flip side, he'd have to go to Swindon on a regular basis.
For the GA suggestion!! I said what you did. Mad not to have him

I remember not that long ago Swindon were in the premier league. Personally I think it'd be a good opportunity/size club for Gareth
