For the benefit of the two people who evidently missed (or failed to appreciate) the irony of the post I was commenting on, I have reproduced it again below.
Myles Weston, now 35, has signed for Bromley from Dagenham & Redbridge.
His contribution in the FA Cup defeat at Tottenham will live on in the memory. From the club's match report:
"Weston skipped past Eric Dier like he wasn’t there and had the freedom of the left flank to dink a cross for Thompson to rise majestically and plant a header into the far corner."
A great potential thread! for me it would be that Spurs game at number 1, Wycombe 4-5 Macclesfield at number 2 and Wycombe 3-8 Aaton Villa at number 3.
The great thing about the Spurs and Villa games is that it really didn’t matter what the score was , we had just acquitted ourselves so well. The MK match was the most terrifying 90 mins of watching Wanderers like Rorkes Dirft meets the Alamo! Strange even more terrifying than Torquay away. Weird that
If you were able to relive and watch only one again live knowing the outcome then you could do worse than watch the first half of the Villa game to and then pop down the pub at half time and stay there
Middlesbrough 1 Wycombe 0, FA Cup 3rd round replay 1975.
If we hadn't conceded right at the end, we probably would have conceded several in extra time, we were under so much pressure. Huge credit to John Maskell and the defence for keeping it to just the one.
@StrongestTeam it was my ‘something old’ game choice on Ringing The Blues a few weeks back, 3-1up but we had left everything out on the park (unfortunately there was 45 mins to play!).’
@NewburyWanderer it was a school night and I don’t think it was on the radio so I had to phone Loakes park the next day to find out what happened!
Great days, ‘it’s not the winning it’s the taking part’ - felt the same about the Southend final strangely but absolutely not the Sunderland game (where we barely took part).
Watched the Spurs highlights again. That Hayes volley is Kane-esque in its execution, he really did have great technique. And that burst of speed by Sammy Wood to win the penalty. The unreal skinning of an England player by Weston, followed by the perfect cross and perfect header by Thompson. How often do we see that type of goal now?
One superb member of our FA Cup semi run. And one all time premier league big name now providing some hilariously withering punditry. They're next to each other....
Let’s turn this item into a mini quiz in honour of the respected and greatly missed @ChasHarps.
Your clues @Malone will make it easy for many. My recollection of who the Cup semi final run heroes were has become so limited that I’m still in the dark - unless the little lad is Jason Cousins.
Agree - that goal probably saved us an almighty thrashing in extra time. Was heart breaking when it went in but the huge ovation for our efforts from the whole ground a minute or so later was spine tingling. Still is when I remember it.

We had 1-1, so maybe we need one that focuses on how we usually lose by 1 goal now.

Note the final sentence.
AAH2.0 PFA player of the month for November.
I didn’t appreciate he was Wimbledon’s player of the year last season. Crazy uptick in his career.
Allsop pulled off a frantic triple save as time expired to preserve Hull's win over Middlesbrough, and was promptly mobbed by teammates. Nice to see.
Did the teammates get allsoppy?

Ah, yes...what a great goal by Thompson...and one of our recent 'If only...' moments. Amazing scenes.
That match is my favourite Wycombe defeat of all time.
If only our keeper's kick had gone almost anywhere else for the equaliser .
But weren't all of their goals a bit lucky for different reasons?

Indeed...we all knew someone touching Ali was going to be a pen and didn't Trippier get crocked and taken off at some point?
Like Southend we only had to hold on for a few minutes....but that's football.
My favourite defeat is MK 1-0 Wycombe in the playoffs second leg.

Spot the legend
Thanks, @wwfcblue. That brought a lump to my throat. What a player.
Forgive my inability to recognise 15 year old iterations of incipient legends but could somebody put me out of my misery, please !!
The little lad in the middle is obviously the most clued up about the need to protect the crown Jewels when facing a free kick. But is it him ?
Come on son.

The away match I regret most for having missed (if that makes sense).
Think another centre half who scored a few in that cup run. He's next to the little lad.
Little lad is now a pundit on sky TV, having played anything like a little lad on the pitch for the most successful team of the 90s.
Nothing like a little lad ?
BFP have a place for both of us @Malone
No that sounds clunky.
