I’m assuming that the undersoil heating will already have been switched on, given that the temperature barely rose above zero today and is likely to be well below freezing tonight and tomorrow night and only a degree or two above tomorrow and on Saturday.

Hope its been fixed ! I remember at one point it had holes in it so wasn't working properly, that was over a year ago so assuming it might have been done during one of the last 2 summers
Also, it’s one of those tricky borderline situations temperature wise. The kind of dilemma/challenge the club could do without.
Think it was due to be fixed as part of the great pitch relaying exercise. That didn’t happen, so I guess it’s still in its existing state and ‘a staff member’ will be setting an alarm every four hours to nip out and check the fuse box!
I don’t think it’s borderline.
It’s going to be a hard frost tonight and not really get up above freezing all day Saturday.
Without undersoil heating we’d be struggling.
Yeah, Met office has it likely to be zero or below freezing across Wycombe from 7 this evening right through to kick off, anything like that at AP would be a challenge.
@arnos_grove not sure that was mentioned publicly, fair to say we haven't heard much on the grand plans let alone the maintenance since the share deal with the trust.
It was reported that the full pitch rip up didn’t happen due to protracted negotiations between club and trust.
Unless keyhole surgery for undersoil heating is a thing, I doubt it’s been replaced as part of a summer re-seed.
Those bemoaning the closure of the Frank Adams will take some comfort in the knowledge that thawing frost on the roof won’t be giving them a cold shower on top of the freezing temperatures.
Nor do I now, @PrinceOfCrowell, but I’ve been accused in the past of exaggerating the likelihood of a match being called off so I was hedging my bets. At 9.30 am this morning the temperature had gone up from minus 4 degrees Celsius early in the night to minus 1. Unfortunately it has stayed stubbornly close to zero in the meantime.
They could plug the sprinklers into the hot tap.
PS without undersoil heating we wouldn’t be struggling. The match would be off. Or at least it should be. Ultimately a referee will decide but the last thing we need is/are (?) further avoidable injuries.
Have they still got those firework assisted burning wheely bins somewhere?
Hopefully nobody left them out in the car park on a Tuesday night for the bin men to take.
Under the away end there is one of those scaffold structures with high powered lights attached (no idea what the technical name is). I think it would be used mostly for helping the grass grow but pressumably it would also help to thaw out the pitch?
One year they put a few massive fan heaters on the pitch and a cover.
I think it was in the FA cup SF season?
Left marks on the pitch for ages.
If the lighting rig has LED lamps, which I think is usual, then it probably doesn't give out much heat, if any. Not that I really know, expert knowledge required!
Undersoil heating is on.
Where was that officially announced to enable Morecambe supporters to decide whether to make what could be a perilous and ultimately futile journey?
And no doubt a fair proportion of Wycombe fans.
Wycombe announced it about an hour ago
Whereabouts @ReturnToSenda ?
Nothing on the official website and we’re not all X rated (if that’s where they done it).
That's where they done it!
Scroll down to near the bottom of the front page of the website, click on the X logo (alongside Facebook, Instagram), and you go into the club X (Twitter) feed.
I think anyone can view it, whether they're on X or not.
First place I go to for club news. The main website articles don't always get updated.
And what if you foolishly installed the dedicated WWFC App, thinking you'd be able to see all these updates from your club?
There are bound to make these kind of announcements there aren't they?
Oh, hang on a minute. No they don't! It's poor communication IMHO. By all means engage with as many media platforms as you can but NOT putting this information on some in preference to others is frustrating.
Agree @Twizz. I hate being kept in suspenders at times like this. But the boy @ReturnToSenda done well.
Do you wear garters with them?
Suspenders render garters superfluid.
We should have kept the heating off and saved everyone the trouble.
At one point the fog seemed to surge through the gates each side of the away end. Alas not thick enough to shroud the horror from my eyes. And those of the officials.
Yes there was just a glimmer that we might get the game abandoned, but it quickly passed.
