At England matches Harry Maguire is the favourite amonsst the fans, His name sung with gusto and respect.
Upon returning home the gutter tabloids and the social media armchair fans appear to be unsatistied by his performance in their 'fantasy teams.'
Who are the real hooligans?
Comments
Harry Maquire has never let England down.
Tbh from what I see on Social media most of his critics are Utds African and Asian fans, who never have a good word to say about him ( but think Greenwood should be in the team)
His deficiencies are better protected in the England system, but he's still made a few cock-ups (e.g. playing the perfect pass for Italy's goal in the qualifier there).
He's been rubbish for Utd and barely plays now, and turned down moves that would have given him the chance to rebuild. A few years ago we had lots of our better players rarely playing for for top sides and had to accommodate them, I'm not sure that's the case anymore. Southgate didn't get the job by picking the same old players and disproportionate loyalty now is blocking the path for others to stake their claim.
It's hardly hooliganism btw, and as for fans singing that stupid song about his head being massive firstly it's awful and secondly people sing songs about ex players all the time and might want to defend him but I doubt many of them would pick him given the chance.
No comment from the gasroom about the cowardly stabbings in Milan tonight.
Telling.
Here's a comment...The Italian national team should be banned by UEFA, and all Italian clubs should be banned from European competition.
Wycombe Wanderers United with Newcastle United against evil
In what way?
In an "intellectual" way.
That would be telling.
Not sure much intellect is on display on this slightly surreal thread.
Not been near any social media or tv until tonight. Were there issues in Milan last night then?
This Newcastle?
