I'm all for not going to the away games against Academy teams but kudos to those who still go to the home games, still providing gate receipts for the club who still have to spend money to operate the ground for an evening kick-off, hire security etc.
With the Wimbledon-Stevenage match going to pens and therefore a 2-1 pointer, I believe I am right in saying that one more win within 90 minutes puts us in the hat for the knockouts.
We got there in the end and deserved the win. Good to see the likes of Jasper, Skura, Breckin, Tjay, Sadlier and Wheeler all get 90 mins or close to it anyway.
Some good stuff, some crap stuff but we got the three points and it was a fair result given we largely dominated the game.
Would be good to get through the group and have 5 or 6 matches in this competition (or even win it!) as we might learn a bit more about a few of our players. I remember Scott Kashket and Nick Freeman finding their feet in the first team in this competition.
I was very impressed with Sakura. He appeared to be very calm on the ball, quick in the challenge and I do like a defender that carries the ball. I hope he has a good future with us.
I thought Pattenden was excellent this evening, very close tie for man of the match with Skura, Forino and Tjay. Oh, and a special mention for Taylor, I thought he had a really good game.
I love games where we get to see the fringe players, especially when they do as well as they did today.
It’s an insane competition but it does provide a useful bridge between games at the training ground at the first team for our dev players. Glad to hear they did well.
Fully agreed on Pattenden and Skura, great to see some of the younger players get a good run out.
Though thought Tjay was pretty poor, especially first half. After some decent sub performances particularly against Northampton I was hoping he could impress given a start.
Some sloppy passes and generally not as much as a nuisance as he often is. So no, not his best night.
Even so, he was still involved in lots of our better moments, hitting the post in the second half and nearly scoring what would have been a very good goal in the first half.
I do prefer him leading the line as he did tonight. It suits his talents better as he’s comfortable with his back to goal, taking his ball into feet and linking up the play. For example, he does that so much better than Hanlan who as he showed on Saturday is so much better as a supporting striker or wide player.
He’s still got something to work with and it’s early days.

442 attendance?! Is that a record low even for this cup?
And what was their keeper doing for that pen? Silly clapping then coming about 3 metres off his line!
442 hardy souls at the game.
Looks like the terrace was closed as well, I’m sure you could buy a ticket for the terrace this afternoon
Just as well it wasn't only 352 to match the formation
A wins a win..... shit competition aside....
Seriously, these kits:

"We're top of Papa John's Southern Section Group C
We're top of Papa John's Southern Section Group C-e-e
Wycombe Wanderers

The sash does nothing for me... but otherwise.... yeah.... 2 sexy kits

442 is the lowest EVER attendance for a Wycombe Wanderers first team fixture at Adams Park.
We're by far the greatest team the Papa John's Southern Section Group C has ever seen
I know that Sam Grace rated Skura very highly. He’s the one that they were most positive about last season
According to @bluntphil in the commentary, we are in group K . I will let you argue with aforementioned at your leisure! 😊
He really blossomed.
Absolutely nobody is going to get that pun.
Nothing like a bit of cherry blossom of the Japanese kind eh doc!

Seems apt if it was his first time.
The terrace being shut probably knocked a couple of hundred off the attendance tonight.
Thought we played quite well.

Cherry on the top for me

I thought it was a mixed performance from Tjay.

Never thought I would say this but Eze looked pretty anonymous this evening .
Declan Skura looked good in that left sided centre back position.
Jasper Pattenden should soon be challenging for that right wingback position.
Yes agree, I thought that was the most complete right wing-back performance we’ve seen this season. Jasper was good going forward and defending.
With Jason McCarthy injured I can see a three way scrap for that position between KVY, David Wheeler and Pattenden.
Not the same Eze that played for us.
His brother.
