That’s a real pain had arranged to come down for that game and booked somewhere to stay. Will need to cancel and probably won’t be able to get to the rearranged game. I don’t get very much value out of my season ticket as it is so postponing the ones I make plans to get to is even more infuriating 😡
Joe Low has already had one(?) call-up to the full Welsh squad so, bearing in mind his brilliant performances for us already this season, he must be nailed on (those with a dark sense of humour may be reminded of Dave Carroll’s nickname - no offence intended).
Sympathetic as I am to the disruptions caused to fans, can I remind you that the EFL clubs agreed to this deal including the changes to k.o. times and without the Sky money they would be left with a huge black hole in their finances.
And can I remind you that extra TV revenue will not do the slightest thing to help clubs in financial difficulty because everyone is getting more, which will fuel wage and transfer fee inflation, and the bigger clubs will get more so it might well make things miles worse for a lot of teams
I don’t follow your logic that having more money will not help clubs in financial difficulty. Why would the smaller clubs have agreed to the deal if they didn’t believe it would be to their benefit? If it causes transfer fees to become even higher that will also benefit smaller clubs like ours who are able to nurture young players and sell them on. Bigger clubs with bigger crowds and richer owners will always have an advantage no matter how the TV money is distributed.
I was going to say much the same thing @eric_plant but I just gave you a thumbs up instead.
It doesn’t really matter how much money EFL clubs get from Sky, they’ll spend it all and then some. It’s in their DNA.
Great news for players, management and sofa dwellers, not so good for matchday supporters. I am fully aware that EFL clubs don’t give a toss and am resigned to my fate. Forgive me a rueful smile at any handwringing about poor attendances.
Attendances have been on an upward spiral for the past two decades of Sky’s involvement and the opening day of the current season saw the highest crowds for 23 years.
That’s entirely possible Strongest Team but there are 48 clubs in Leagues 1 and 2 and only 24 in the Championship so the clubs further down the ladder can still carry the vote.
@glasshalffull ah well, good to know English football is in such rude health. As a paying punter of almost 40 years, I feel slightly better for knowing how little my contribution will be missed.
Wonder how many of those 48 teams are a delayed payment or two from going bust? The big clubs , Sky and vultures from around the world will do what they like, our share of any pie will no doubt continue to fall.
On the impact of the fixture moves (club not Sky) surely now we need to involve streaming fees into packages. Not only can I not use my season ticket due to the game but it'll cost me an additional tenner to watch at home.
I was not belittling your support, merely pointing out some facts. Your contribution is invaluable to Wycombe who have not benefited from the rise in attendances enjoyed by many other clubs.
Genuine question to our man in the know. How likely / how long before the Saudi football circus gets aired on Sky / TNT etc? Are there whispers in the canteen already?
I generally only ever plan to watch around 10-12 ‘home’ games for my ST anyway so in theory it may not impact me that much.
What will be key though is the lead time for changes to times. If I know this time next year that, for example, on Saturday 16 November we will play Swindon at home at 1300, I will have time to plan accordingly.
If they are allowed to move starting times and days two or three weeks out, that will pretty much be it for me.

Oh bum. Pity they cannot reschedule these for available saturdays rather than week nights. I probably won't be able to make it.
Cup runs and internationals...
Who will the other two be? Tjay and Forino?
Two or more of TJay, Low and Forino
A shame on one hand, but how massive are we? 😁
Congratulations in advance to the unannounced lads, in addition to Taylor.
Low has to be likely, full or u21

Just wait until next season when Sky’s ‘kick-off anytime’ jamboree commences.
I already know this is the last season I’ll hold a season ticket.
This nonsense was one of the reasons I decided against a season ticket, disappointed as I was looking forward to it after missing the Burton game.

I'm mostly irritated by a Tuesday night League game.

Low not in the Welsh mens squad. I can't see if he's in the under 21s
Leaves Taylor as the only official announcement yet.
Because they get told to suck it up or get nothing?

And still HMRC won't get paid!

Ex Sky commentator points out benefits of Sky's involvement.
Fans who live miles away and can't make midweek games talk of inconvenience.
That should be a sticky thread really.
I thought that they didn't stream midweek games that were moved from Saturday?
They stream them all in Vipienne
Hey Malone, not so much of the ex-Sky. I haven’t retired yet even if you think I should have done so years ago!
Assumed you'd moved to a different channel rather than retired as such 🙃

I’m freelancing now but I won’t be joining the Saudi circus (see post below).
