I am a reasonable person, and fellow WWFC supporter.
I disagree that it's out of order, there's nothing secret or private in my message to him, or his reply, that hasn't previously been said on the forum.
I have been accused of all sorts over this issue. This shows that it was his choice to leave, I didn't drive him away.
Are you aware of the concept of bullying? Do you genuinely not see that your behaviour, threats and words effectively made it intolerable for him?
(And yes I know his behaviour and words could have equally made it intolerable for you, but everyone reacts differently).
And publishing a private message is just plain wrong and (in my view) makes you look a much poorer example of a decent human being than @ChasHarps
Most of on here recognised that they were over-stepping the mark in their responses to you, so you had the moral high-ground. You have long departed that lofty position.
I think you are hitting your head against a brick wall so far as @bargepole is concerned. You have to either put him on ignore or just accept that he is a self-opinionated bore and generally disregard his views.
Stupid as issuing legal threats might be, it's still the second dumbest thing I've seen on the internet. The winner was a bloke on an overseas forum who used to demand that people he disagreed with meet him at his local train station where they would settle their argument with a fight. Apparently he actually turned up on the agreed day and time and was even more outraged when the other person didn't show..
I'll be at the Centrepoint Metro Station, Dubai tomorrow just before prayers to go mano-a-mano with whoever gave me a thumbs down on here for identifying Steve Buscemi as an actor in 30 Rock.
I shall draw the proverbial line under the conversation…
And return to praising the immense efforts of the 1887 group. It really does seem to be a good initiative and I don’t underestimate the amount of work a lot of people are putting in to try and make it work.
If I’d had received a legal threat from you, I assure you I’d have taken it extremely seriously.
@ChasHarps made a brilliant contribution to this forum and is sadly missed. He stepped over the mark responding to your provocations, but he was also called out for it.
I think if you threaten someone with it on here and directly in DMs and ask the moderator for his contact information...that would sound like a credible threat to me...but I didn't have the Latin for the law.
I promise never to give a view on the tune of ‘Who were you with last night’ ever again, an innocent comment seemingly act and a catalyst to opening old wounds.
I'd love to get involved if there was a push for it, but I would also highly recommend Andy Rogers, who wrote 'One Wycombe' and is a lovely chap who I have had the pleasure of meeting.
My apologies! There are few things I hate worse than being unoriginal! I remember once posting exactly the same thought as @Malone, except later in the same minute or so, and he thought I was stealing his genius, the cheeky beggar.
I'd like to see three tune options put forward. Votes to be cast on thenterrace by putting a £1 coin in one of those clear perspex tubes indicating your preferred tune. Funds raised should be spent on printed pamphlets containing the words of The Old Bucks Boys.
Whilst I’m on here, we are looking to have a vote on the best Wycombe 11 since becoming a league side. Vote for each position. The best 11 will be put on either a waver flag or a surfer flag. We are also talking about MoN’s conference winner side being emortalised on to a flag or banner. Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Cheers
And best or favourite? Two hugely different lineups I expect, although some names may transcend both lists.
Cousins, Ryan, Carroll, Guppy, Hyde, Scott will always be in my favourites list, as it was an incredible time for the club, all of those players felt proper Wycombe through and through players, and their contribution to the cause and commitment was huge.
But Guppy aside, none could realistically have a chance of being the "best" in their position etc.
Comments
Pointless too, sure something very similar was posted a while back, no need at all.

Quick question for you @bargepole
Are you aware of the concept of bullying? Do you genuinely not see that your behaviour, threats and words effectively made it intolerable for him?

Fair comment, and I'm not going to argue with you. I'll take it on the chin and move on.
I think you are hitting your head against a brick wall so far as @bargepole is concerned. You have to either put him on ignore or just accept that he is a self-opinionated bore and generally disregard his views.
I now await threats of legal action!!
A great loss to the Gasroom,

@mooneyman - a self opinionated bore? That must make me unique then, I haven't seen any other Gasroomers who fit that description 🤣
And as you and everyone else knows, there is not and never was any credible threat of legal action, so wind your neck in.
If I’d had received a legal threat from you, I assure you I’d have taken it extremely seriously.

Using the ‘banter’ defence is never a great look.
Ignore button
This fella doesn't know when to leave it alone does he? 🤣 Now he's posting personal message interchanges too.
Can we start a petition in earnest to ease this guy into the "see ya later" locker and get Chas back?
And as you and everyone else knows, there is not and never was any credible threat of legal action, so wind your neck in.
you keep saying that, but it’s not getting any truer.
I think if you threaten someone with it on here and directly in DMs and ask the moderator for his contact information...that would sound like a credible threat to me...but I didn't have the Latin for the law.

I'm now suffering from the symptoms of whiplash after following your advice. Can I make a claim?
It would be pretty simple to put Old Bucks Boys to new music.
Wow @Shev if only we knew a songwriter/composer amongst the ranks of the Gasroom or the wider Chairboys community
I asked who was the actor in the said photo and thanks for that but in the spirit of things bring it on buster .
P.s My last fight was in junior school but she rued the day she I can tell you..
I'd love to get involved if there was a push for it, but I would also highly recommend Andy Rogers, who wrote 'One Wycombe' and is a lovely chap who I have had the pleasure of meeting.
Which is basically what I said and got a roasting! But you’re correct.
My apologies! There are few things I hate worse than being unoriginal! I remember once posting exactly the same thought as @Malone, except later in the same minute or so, and he thought I was stealing his genius, the cheeky beggar.
When did this happen, and what happened? Didn’t realise @ChasHarps had left!
What happened? Basically the biggest tantrum in Gasroom history.
I'd like to see three tune options put forward. Votes to be cast on thenterrace by putting a £1 coin in one of those clear perspex tubes indicating your preferred tune. Funds raised should be spent on printed pamphlets containing the words of The Old Bucks Boys.

I’ll see if we can come up with something 😂

Where will you have this poll?
