I must have very short legs, as although I stand, I have been known to park my arse on my purchased seat and honestly did not notice the lack of leg room.
Seems daft closing the best stand in the ground. Main stand views are pretty poor, I assume they keep it open as it has player and other facilities in it
I like the ‘main’ stand as you are close enough to the technical areas to hear / see what they are up to and close enough to the pitch to feel the action. The option to sit or stand in the back row as mentioned by @EwanHoosaami is great, especially the seats either side of the concrete piers (more room and no one next to you blocking any view) and something to lean on when you stand. Back row is high enough to get a feel for the tactical shape of the game as well (& back in the dark days berate the board sitting close by). Down on the rail for the tense ‘added time’ an added bonus.
By contrast I find the FA sterile and distant and a pain to walk / climb up to, but each to his own.
Exactly that, my seat is right next to one of those concrete pillars, wife and son have the next two. It was perfect when I had osteoarthritis in both my knees as I could splay my legs for more comfort without pissing off my neighbours. ☺️
The legroom in the back row of the Main Stand is a few inches less than the rest of the rows. Possibly two, I can't remember now, but we measured it when we moved over from FA. That's why we sit a couple of rows down from the back, leg room is good. I suppose if you stand up in the back row, it's irrelevant.
It used to be good fun sitting behind the away dugout, interacting with their bench.

I sit there, but only because I have season tickets in the back row & can therefore choose to stand. 🤷

We get a good view of the many empty seats (with good legroom) opposite @Hopping_Wanderer 😁

I agree with all of the above post from @perfidious_albion . Which is not always the case. 😉
In the Frank Adams stand to make lots of noise
I'm watching Ballymena United v Linfield on TV, at the two sided Ballymena Showgrounds, where the atmosphere leaks out at the open ends.
Adams Park is a tight, compact ground, with fans close to the pitch. With the right noise generated, it should be an intimidating place.

I fear we may have given away the secret of the best seats in the house.
I was chatting to some of the main stand regulars at the Orient game and none of them complained about the size of the seats.
