He's conceded eight goals in three league matches, including one where he let it through his hands, and given away a penalty. He's also done a lot of good stuff, the double save last night, the penalty save against Exeter, but I find it absolutely absurd the lengths everyone goes to try to make out that he's god's gift to the goalkeeping profession based more, I think, on the fact he scowls a lot and has a big dog than any remarkable display of talent. Throw all the bread rolls you like at me from the more populous table. I'll gladly sup my bitters alone while you're all passing round the Kool Aid on yours.
Not sure that’s the absurd thing here. ‘Max is bad actually’ is an astonishingly contrarian position to stick to, even for you.
The reason people rate him is nowt to do with his dog or his grumpiness, it’s because he consistently plays very well.
His distribution isn’t as good as Allsop or Stockdale but (it might be an old cliche but its true) he wouldn’t be playing at this level if he was brilliant at everything.
When you have to define your entire personality as "contrarian" it's probably time to go out for a walk, get some fresh air, and chat to some strangers.
James Trafford (Bolton) and Michael Cooper (Plymouth) were particularly impressive last season. I rate Max but do think there is a bit of a cult mentality around him. Perhaps not surprising given his penchant for spectacular shot-stopping, a hallmark of Allsop and Nikki Bull (? Although both got slated for other misgivings). I agree with another poster that Max’s kicking looked distinctly better last night and the saves were from the usual top drawer.
Stuart Lewis in the ‘Legends Lounge’…not for me if we’re applying a strict criteria to the term ‘legend’. A steady figure in that early ‘10s period and did score a decent goal against Burton once so maybe that’s the link with Saturday…
Max is like your typical one trick pony, like a goal hanging centre forward he's only really good at erm...making saves, oh and positioning / commanding his box better than anyone we've had since Martin Taylor, shocking for a goalie, is De Gea available still? He never fails.
I went in the Legends Lounge for the Bristol Rovers match. Really enjoyed it! Food was surprisingly good and the half time pies were lovely.
Keith Scott was the legend that game, enjoyable interview with Phil.
Had a quick chat with Freddie Potts after the game and he stayed for a while signing autographs and chatting to fans.
I actually went with family, who aren't particularly football fans, but they all enjoyed it. Of course, it helped that was the only game we've won since October!

The Lizard Lounge toilets could be named after Alan Smith
I typed 'Most disliked Wycombe player' into Google and the answer was Dean Morgan
What?
Sorry, he'd be moaning behind the counter of the kiosk in Sulkers Corner

And his distribution still stinks.

I don't get as carried away with his level as a lot on here do, I think we had a bit similar level of slight overrating with Stewart to be honest.
But he's a perfectly strong keeper for league 1 for sure.
It's a funny old game football though isn't it. The drone army almost to a man slated Allsop, yet he's turning out in the championship!
Okay name five better goalkeepers in the league this or last season.
He's had a wobbly start to the season, but he's still one of the best 'keepers in the league.
Not rating him is bizarre enough, but describing him as 'one of the worst in the league' just comes across as attention-seeking contrarianism.
Also, is Max grumpy? He was brilliant on Ringing the Blues.
Clearly @aloysius pointing out he was the worst keeper in the league forced him to up his game.
Max won Players' Player of the Season. Maybe the Wycombe players are clueless about what makes a good goalkeeper too?
He certainly puts a game face on
They’re all on the kool-aid too.
Be more Neil Oliver.
Or maybe they were intimidated by his big dog 🤷

It appears @Chris has taught a new word to both @ReturnToSenda and @drcongo today.
Can people really name keepers of league 1 opponents? Unless they're particularly well known or got in some scuffles?
Without doubt one of the best 24
Your lack of an actual argument in response means I'll just leave this microphone where I dropped it on the floor. 😉
Connor Ripley.

In fairness, I'm stuck already

Yes it has and he kicks a long way now with virtually no run up…excellent
Anyone been in there this season? Any good?

How long (approx) is the interview?
