I disagree with the name, there are very few who should be classed as legends, players like Keith Ryan, Steve Brown, Bayo. Those that have gone above and beyond for the club and you have looked at them play and know that they gave it their all every time a Blue shirt went on.
However, what do you call it if we are bringing in club "icons" or "Idol" or favoured personnel? Icons Igloo (and whack up the air con?) Favoured Personnel Paradise?
At the time that Lewis was with us, both he and Bloomfield were very similar players. Jack of all trades and ran themselves into the ground but did all the simple things really well
He gave his all when called upon, and acted with dignity when he fell down the pecking order when the midfield was overhauled after the nearly disastrous 13/14 season. From what I've heard he wasn't shy of fronting up to fans after games during that season, which few players would have done in that situation.
Seems like a lifetime ago so a little surprised to see he is only 35. Currently running Tottenham's U19 team apparently, so feels like a good contact to keep warm.
I always liked Lewis, he was a solid midfielder who was never shy of the tackle and played the short ball well. The thing I most remember about him though is a horror tackle away at Wimbledon a few minutes into his first match as captain when he got a deserved straight red card. I wondered then whether the captaincy was pressure too far. The positive spin on it was that it demonstrated just how committed he was to the cause.
No worries mate, it was a funny statement and got me thinking if we did have 2 awards where one was voted for by ST holders and the only was just people emailing / doing a poll on the clubs website
Personally I think the Legends Lounge should be Bayo, Rhino, Brownie, Keith Scott, Roy Essandoh, Martin O'Neill, Lawrie Sanchez and Ivor Beeks on repeat.
And then host the Moderately Memorable Lounge next door with the likes of Jermaine Easter and Chris Vinnicombe. £20 cash, including some chips.
The marmite lounge for players revered by some and treated with indifference by others. Two big round tables - pick your side. Possibly a food fight?
First up is the Max Stryjek event, with @aloysius on a table for one, placating a bristling Major with scraps from the table. Everyone else fighting for a seat at the other.
Yes, it’s rather odd that one poster is so critical of a goalkeeper who kept us in the game last night with three top class saves and who has been one of our most consistent players since he joined.
Max did look like he misjudged a few things last night, which was very uncharacteristic of him, but they were some class saves and anyone who doesn't rate him is talking out of their arse.

Is this supposed to be sarcastic? Stuart Lewis was fantastic for us
Is that supposed to be sarcastic? He almost skippered us out of the Football League. Not too sure that attains legendary status!

You have to go with Legends, even if some of the players are more decent contribution old boys. As that's not a phrase that gets anyone going.
He was decent. Especially with some passion and effort when he came In.
Fantastic is an outrageous stretch and leaves you nowhere sensible to go for all timers.

Of course it’s debatable, but I used the term ‘fantastic’ for a reason.
Joined in Jan 2011 and helped us gain automatic promotion from League 2.
Relegated the following season, but was ever present playing 45 out of 46 outfield games. The most of any player.
The next season he won Fans Player of the Year and Supporters Player of the year. Again, the most appearances of any player.
Okay ‘Legend’ is excessively used as a term, but Lewis was fantastic for our playing budget / squad‘s ability through those years in my opinion.

What was the difference between Supporters Player of the Year and Fans Player of the Year? @frequentstander
I meant Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player. He won both. My apologies.

In truth he was a decent player for us during a period of time when we were crap. Legend, I think not.
I wonder if Martin O’Neill would be open to an afternoon or two in the Legends lounge.
He’d be a wonderful host and well worth the ticket price.

They actually pay you a fiver to go in the Jakubiak, Dennis Oli, Stewart Castledine hosted section under the away end next to the paint storage.
Can't believe Dave Carroll and Jason Cousins aren't getting any mentions here
Agreed. I would pay £400 just to touch the hem of Wavy Davy's garment.
A certain Mr Guppy, the current manager, the last manager and assistant, Garner and many others I'm sure would be more than welcome.
The less said about the Gavin Grant section the better.
It's high security!
I'd happily spend a night in the Sido lounge
I can't believe people haven't pounced on your Ivor Beeks tickle there 🤣
That league promotion team had an insane amount of legends didn't it.
Hyde, Cousins, Carroll, Guppy, Ryan, Scott undoubted, arguably others.
Throw in Brownie, Evans, Garner from early league days, and those really were an incredible time.
We could have a Lizards Lounge for unpopular players. Not sure who they are though.

His kicking has improved so much since first joining.
