Midfielders (especially ours) tend to get injured regularly. Last season when Scowen was out we struggled in the midfield area. You can't expect the same 3 or 4 midfielders to be fit and stay in form for 50 games.
comment from a Shrewsbury fan, for what it's worth:
"How!? Phillips should be on his way to a Championship club this summer to help with his development, not League 1. He’s far too good for this level. Give it another season or two and he’ll be a regular starter for Palace/a Prem club. Be an unreal signing for you lads… first Leahy now this. Jealous."
Sounds promising. Unless he's a wide attacker midfielder, you wonder how we're going to manage Leahy, Potts, Scowen, Breckin and this guy. And if we're playing more often than not with a front 2, then Wheeler and McCleary too.
And the young Newcastle fella that I've forgotten his name temporarily.
nope, but as previously said we are shopping up the food chain and casting the net far and wide. so the 3rd i thought was close might have not happened for xyz but the net casting may of caught this instead.
No offence but that is a fantastically vague catch all answer a politician would have given.
May as well just say “The players we will/have signed may not be the players I was originally predicting but because we were looking at players, we have signed other players instead, so I was 100% correct in my prediction of 3 players.”
My point is, you say you “got this one wrong” but there’s zero specifics over what “this one” was. Which one and who was it?
Or the previous two, you say you got right, until after they happened other than predicting we were going to sign some players in a transfer window - which started with us releasing a load of players. Call me a cynic, but we can all predict signings while being very vague about them.
for example, My prediction now for transfer Window Summer 2024:
We will be signing two players that may turnout to be the best players we’ve ever had. I’m ITK, so Bookmark this post.
I can guaranteed we'll be making another signing soon of someone I can't name in case professional clubs are checking what I write on an obscure forum and it wrecks the deal.
But obviously if it doesn't happen some last glitch happened.
The Nathan Bishop saga last year has conditioned me to assume that if the club haven’t officially announced a player within 24 hours of the press saying we’re ‘set to sign’ them, it’s not happening.
Most certainly not. Six weeks ago I’d have possibly been in favour. Not now. I’m hoping the apparent move towards signing Koné is successful. The icing on the cake.

Deal now being reported by The Athletic.
I wonder if he is one of three predicted by @kipper !!!!
@kipper and his predictons seem to be living in your head @davecz . None of it matters.

@kipper Once the window closes, do you think you'll be able to share the details of who might have been the 3rd player you were expecting to sign?
I understand if you can't, I'm just hoping that when the window closes, it might not matter so much if we were allowed to know who was close or not
clubs social media looks active😏

He's already cup-tied for the FA Cup as he played in Athletic Newham's FC Cup Qualifier
Phillips is done
Old news boss. We need you to break one before the press have it 😘
I can read boss don't you worry 😘

Ikpeazu has been released.....
Can we? Should we?
Nahhh

Is the window still open though?
Not sure if he'd want to return for a place in our Development Squad
I prefer the cherry on the top!
It’s a no from me. He would be on championship wages, he’s not set the world alight since leaving us, injury record not fantastic.
Surely QPR bound!
Or he'll end up at Reading!
I think he started out at Reading
