I thought it would be interesting for those interested to predict the top seven in orfer. We can then look back at the end of the season to see who was nearest.
My seven are
1. Reading
2. Portsmouth
3. Derby
4. Peterborough
5. Barnsley
6. Wycombe
7. Charlton
Comments
Reading are pulling things together now but they are going to suffer from a small senior squad and still have at least five players on £15k a week plus.
My Reading mates are hopeful for a push on the Playoffs but don’t think they will have the depth if they get injuries.
Blackpool will get on with things quietly and I reckon they will be Top 5
Derby
Blackpool
Portsmouth
Reading
Bolton
Charlton
Peterborough
My Reading pal reckons they'll do well to be top half. He is a bit bleak on them though.
Do you rare Wing that highly that he will push them to the title?
Reading had a miserable second half of the season, have loads of financial issues and have had to bring some fairly humble players in.
Certainly don't see a title win.
Love the Wycombe positivity though. We'll have to gel quickly and superbly though. And win on a Saturday!
Why top 7?
Why not!
FWIW
Intrigued to know who was offended at the thought of us going up automatically!
Reading will need time like Ipswich did
1.Derby
2.Bolton
3.Portsmouth
4.Blackpool
5.Reading
6.Peterborough
7.Barnsley
Unfortunately cannot see us in the mix unless we make some more signings. Still believe we are short in midfield and upfront. Hope to be proved wrong.
Have they had a good clear out? Seemed like they went very quickly from being skint to saying all is fine and signing new players. Not having Paul Ince in charge should be a boost alone.
I always like to Portsmouth predicted for automatic promotion.
Short up front? We have Vokes, Taylor, Hanlan, Mellor, de Barr, plus McCleary has often played up top. That’s 6 players for potentially only one position, two at most.
Obviously I always like to see Portsmouth predicted for automatic promotion.
I don't like to Portsmouth. Whatever that may be.
Taylor only joined post post. Only 17 goals from these 6 players last year. So I would say we’re short up front.
I think with Taylor now on-board we just need a speedy wide man to add pace to the attack and we then have pretty good options.
Such a tough call. Portsmouth and Charlton have underperformed in the past couple of seasons and may now switch on and make a go of it. Bolton too. Logic says the relegated three will be the most competitive. Once again there are going to be 'big' clubs crying come May.
1 Derby
2 Bolton
3 Peterborough
4 Oxford
5 Blackpool
6 Barnsley
7 Portsmouth
1 Bolton
2 Blackpool
3 Wycombe
4 Derby
5 Pompey
6 Charlton
7 Oxford
1:Bolton
2:Portsmouth
3:Wycombe
4:Wigan
5:Charlton
6:Derby
7:Blackpool
There's a few bellends at the moment intent on abusing the thumbs, apparently unaware that with a simple click I could make the site show who did what vote on every post.

I'd do it
not us
Interesting to have another look at this thread at this fairly advanced stage of the season. Kudos to @Erroll_Sims for predicting that Stevenage would be up there.
The expected suspects at the Top.
I think we would all have had Portsmouth, Bolton, Derby, Peterborough, Barnsley and Blackpool in our Top 10 and probably us too on hope rather than anything else.
Stevenage have done exceptionally well to stay up with the pack and Leyton Orient are certainly still in with a small chance of the Playoffs.
If we can push on and have a decent end to the season then 10th is achievable.
