Rob has done several interviews with Phil in recent months including a fan’s phone in recently. Also, the club website is updated on a daily basis. What is going on? Pre-season training with videos, photos and interviews available, most of them free to air. If you’re referring to signing new players they will be announced when they are made. Criticism is fine when it is justified but in this instance it isn’t.
To be fair @glasshalffull the communication out to the fans changed dramatically as soon as we lost that play-off final to Sunderland. The silence during the summer after that Sunderland defeat was deafening and this summer seems to have followed the same pattern.
I appreciate you are closer to the Couhigs than the normal run of the mill fan but things have changed over the last year or so and not for the better.
Don't disagree with anything you say @glasshalffull, I think communication is far better than other clubs but it is the direction of travel with most clubs now to have open dialogue with owners and management. I see a lot of clubs having very open forums so we are hardly trailblazers.
The signings gripe that is central to this thread is largely down to Rob saying we were too slow after the play off disappointment of 21/22 season to get going. Pre-season schedule was weak, signings came late (especially in the GK role but we know why etc), and we seem to be in the same position again.
New signings surely can have a commercial boost and surely must help to integrate into the squad if they roll up on the first day of pre-season and not August 31st.
I do wonder whether the financial situation as caught up with us a bit. I have the slight feeling that we will add at best two ‘established’ players and the development squad will disappear and the players from it will become ‘fringe’ players within the squad.
I think there will be a lot more emphasis on coaching and developing younger players to be expected to play in the first team if and when required.
To be honest, MB has clearly said that he'll be looking into the loan market this season which is something that GA started with and then drifted away from.
I do like getting some promising loan players in and then seeing them go from strength to strength after going back to their parent club. Players like Alfie, Eze, Steven Taylor all came as unknowns and we gave them the confidence to go on to bigger things. Then again, we did get some players in who have disappeared so bring them in!
When you get older perhaps it just seems like everything is the same every year @Malone
Out of interest, if there are a legion of folks holding on to their subs while keeping an eye on the club announcements before committing - what players do people think Rob C could afford to sign that would significantly increase season ticket sales?
For example, Notts have just signed David McGoldrick would that suggest the ambition and spending to have a lot of presently non-committal Wycombe fans rushing to sign up?
Exciting young player from lower leagues no-one has heard of? Exciting loan player from Champ/Prem probably nobody has ever heard of? Recognisable Football League veteran journeyman? The unlikely signing of a 'name' Prem player stopping off on the way down?
I would imagine most of us just renew (or not depending on finances) and I cannot imagine waiting until I see who we sign or don't before committing...or what criteria I would use to decide.
If we don't sign anyone...the interest for me this season would be...how the **** is MB going to manage this???
I respect your opinion but I disagree about what you refer to as ‘silence’ from the club this summer. As Phil mentioned above, he did a lengthy interview with Rob only a month ago in which no topic was off the table and even included a fans phone-in section and texts from listeners. There will be another live interview with Rob, Pete and MB on Thursday. In recent weeks the website has carried countless interviews with the manager, backroom staff and players, so I’m not sure how that constitutes silence.
It gives us great pleasure to let our season ticket holders know the exclusive news of our first summer signing.
Matt Bloomfield has completed a move for former Republic of Ireland international defender Richard Keogh, who returns to Adams Park after leaving promotion-winning Ipswich Town in the summer.
The 36-year-old was a Chairboy during a three-game loan spell in 2005 and is back in HP12 to bring added experience and leadership to a new-look Wanderers side.

I’d be interested to know what is wrong about a factually correct statement.
Even the poster himself has agreed that his original comments were harsh and made in the heat of the moment.

Also, making one or two key signings early on would surely boost the season ticket sales.
These are my favourite kind of signings. Much prefer someone I've never heard of to some journeyman on his 11th League 1 club.
This is clearly (like me) have spent way too many hours playing Football Manager

A real test for MB if so.
Could be fun…

Technically it would still qualify as “transfer news” if someone else left…
Not on twitter and can't even have quick.look now thanks to Elon...just shout out the name!
LOL if they announced Forino to QPR that would be amazing.
I am sort of on twitter now, but only on the app on my phone, so that link doesn't work on here!
It's the video for George Michael and Aretha Franklin's I Knew You Were Waiting. I'm hoping that's also a clue as to who we've signed...
Richard Keogh

Paul Franklin resigned, he'd only be about 60
Somewhat underwhelming - a 36yo who absolutely mangled his knee a couple of years ago
George Franklin from Oxford's U18 team???
Crikey. I think we can safely say Dobbo’s profiling of players is no longer a thing!
If he's as good as Terry Evans or Darius Charles we'll take that
Indeed.
This bit amused me:
"....bring added experience and leadership to a new-look Wanderers side."
What 'new-look'? We haven't got anyone different in it (yet)
I am Underwhelmed is the motto of Gasroom Summer.
