The best two made it to the final imho.
Crystal Palace not for me but I can see why it made the final. Happy that Blackburn is here (and interesting that a much-maligned roundel is in the top 2.)
And thanks to @Shev for your efforts in putting this together. Much appreciated by me and others too I'm sure.
Cheers @Chris - and I agree with you and @YorkshireBlue about it being a worthy final.
I'd encourage anyone who is up for it to post what their personal final four would have been, plus their personal favourite of all 92. Mine would be Blackpool over Luton in the final, with Plymouth and probably Wolves in the semis.
hear hear
CP always looked a strong contender . Blackburn bit of a surprise to me - I’m plainly not seeing what others are.
Thanks for filling part at least of a long off season @Shev .
still a way to go - gasovision song contest next?
I was hoping the end of this would dovetail neatly into our first signing, but alas!
Palace for me by quite a margin.
The Eagle has plenty of attitude about it while the Rose has a quiet simplicity but with a solid foundation.
A worthy final two, but the Eagle wins it for me.
I thought Brighton's Seagull was appealing until I couldn't unsee the swimmer.
Thx for the distraction @Shev, it's helped fill the gap until season kicks-off.
If you squint it looks like the eagle is standing on a swastika. That's good enough for me.
You joke, but there was talk of Adolf Hütter taking over as manager.
I've made no secret of it throughout, Palace's is fantastic and my favourite by far.
Blackburn already need snookers. No-one has really laid a glove on Palace for the whole tournament, as they had the highest group winning percentage as well as the highest winning percentage in the Round of 16 and the semis. Only Blackburn in the QFs beat their winning percentage in any given round.
Based upon the highest number of votes cast for any one matchup or group stage (62) to date, Crystal Palace cannot be caught as they have 32 votes. I therefore feel safe in proclaiming them the Winner of the Battle of the Badges! Well done Palace!
Blackburn edge it on the Latin motto
Thanks @Shev. An excellent diversion with a deserved winner. And I appreciate all the effort you put into putting it all together.
And apologies if I’ve missed it, but out of curiosity what was the unbiased and uncorrupted view of Mrs Shev?
Cheers! My wife had Liverpool beating Blackpool in the final, with Ipswich and Sutton as beaten-semifinalists.
She did have my three top badges (Blackpool, Luton, Plymouth) in her final eight without knowing what they were, which made me rather proud.
@shev. Have you been to the Palace forum to tell them of their triumph?
Yes - they have a couple of main forums, and have taken it with humour and interest so far:
It's only June but you have already won something - Crystal Palace FC Supporters' Website - The Holmesdale Online
It's only June but you have already won something - CPFC BBS
That's great work @shev!
My favourite out of 92 has always been Blackburn, so pleased it made the final and sorry it’s fallen at final hurdle!
Love the connection to the county, club colours, reference to founding date and Latin motto. Plus think also influenced by nostalgia as although slightly tweaked, it’s still very recognisable badge from when I started watching football in the 90s.
Thanks for organising, have enjoyed following competition and think I’ve managed to vote every time!
Palace, sans doute.
Gotta love Palace a bit, if only for Eze, and the greatest away game ever against their tennant's a few years back.
