All Ex-Contracted XI v. All Ex-Loanee XI
It's that time of year where we have time on our hands, so I put together teams of ex-contracted players - not including those who just left - and ex-loanee players, with the proviso that they still must be active players. Quite some teams!
ALL WYCOMBE EX-LOANEE XI:
- Ingram
- Scarr
- McGinley
- Knight
- Adineran
- Ofoborh
- Muskwe
- Campbell
- Eze
- Smyth
- Williams
ALL WYCOMBE EX-CONTRACT XI
- Stockdale
- Harriman
- Stewart
- O'Nien
- Pierre
- Fred
- Mehmeti
- Samuel
- Uche
- Kashket
- Kaikai
Though these don't really make sense from a formation point of view (especially the ex-loanees with only three defenders of any kind), they are a couple of tasty lineups! I also think it would be a very close game between the two. There is also a very fine combined XI in there somewhere.

Ingram and Stocko eligible for both teams
True, together with Fred (I think?)
Alfie Mawson is a home banker in both categories.
No longer an active player
I don't think Ofoborh really counts as that anymore either, although I don't think he's officially announced his retirement
Kourtney Hause should be in the ex-contract XI, as should Matt Phillips.
And Lewis Wing for that matter
Oh sorry, I missed that proviso somehow.
Yeah, came back on loan in the first half of 18/19 (scored at Sunderland) then Millwall recalled him in Jan and didn't play him - cue triumphant homecoming that summer.
Was Gape on loan from Southampton initially?
@ReturnToSenda Yes he was. Was surprised and delighted when he signed (we later learned from Dobbo that he'd taken a pay cut to come) and am very sad to see him go.
Not sure Hause is an active player anymore?
There was some drama with his injury - got injured on loan at Watford and Villa wanted him released back to them but Watford wouldn't, or something?
Villa wanted Watford to pay for an operation, Watford refused. Or possibly the other way around.
I was thinking surely Steven Taylor would be in the loan team and then saw the 'proviso'.
Al Hamadi worth a place
It's arguable Bayo could be in the ex contract X1 bearing in mind he was playing for Faversham a couple of months ago!
Luke Bolton trying to play his way into contention for the ex-loanee XI this afternoon.
I would want Trotta in my ex-loanees XI and the Beaver for my ex-contract XI. Beavon is still playing at the age of 39, for Mickleover Sports. Despite his infamous exit from the club, I still feel that the reception he got from the terrace on his return was slightly over the top!
Those few weeks with Trotta were great fun.
I can almost remember that feeling in my stomach when I saw the news that he was going back. His career peaked too early and he never did recover from his spell at Brentford. That moment with the penalty miss probably still haunts him.
Misread that as Micklefield Sports for a second. Thought he must love playing to be turning out for a team from one of Wycombe's delightful ends.
Heaton, Hennessy both still premier league keepers aren’t they? And Alex McCarthy still at Southampton we let go to Reading along with Simon Church as part of the first Tyson signing
Tyson eligible for both teams
