It would seem a ridiculous waste of money investing heavily in Kenilworth Road if the club is looking to move in a couple of years and anyway would surely be strong favorites for relegation next season if they get promotion this. But many a non league club would complain passionately of FA inflexibility in respect of (often pointless) ground regs at their level and hence it woukd be injustice indeed if a big club" was shown tolerance and flexibility while little clubs are frequently greeted with inflexible "thems the rules, tough" attitude from the authorities.
Extraordinary to think that just 15 years ago Bournemouth and Luton started the season in Lg2 with massive points deductions yet next season may meet in the Premier League.
There was another article on the BBC website, if they go up the builders will be in almost immediately, not to improve fans facilities of course, but to improve media facilities at the cost of £10m. I believe the premier league handbook includes a load about what is required, mostly covering up anything that looks bad to the TV audience (not an easy ask) and fulfilling the requirements of the TV contract for UK and international rights holders.
It is a waste but the TV £ will more than cover it. Not sure if they've started building the new ground yet.
I've seen people cite safety concerns - admittedly I've only ever been in the away end at KR, and it's undeniably shit, but it's never felt unsafe to me?
It's not great for your shins if they make you sit down.
Thankfully the last few times we've been they've let us stand up.
I have to say, that game we played there towards the end of the 2018 season where we won 3-2 and Scott Brown had the game of his life was one of my favourite ever games
Not the Mawson game but the promotion season? Was at both of them and agree for both.
Def something to be said for the atmosphere in a tight ground but the safety concerns will be around the standing up and access, Prem TV fans and commentators will go over the top if people are allowed to stand or if there's any of the limbs you see at lower league games and it's all a bit tight and unpleasant, hope they don't go silly on ticket prices or they'll deserve the criticism.
Every Luton fan who's ever been once and some who've never been will want to go to all the games and the away allocations will be tiny by usual standards, not sure if they have the space to do security cordons and ticket checks for those that inevitably try it on or look for tout tickets being that it's so close to London. The Watford games the last couple of seasons will have readied them for some of the issues.
Btw think Cov are probably more deserving, have had lots of issues, same manager for the whole journey, and Luton were only in the conference because of overspending and dodgy dealings. Although they of course blame the EFL.
I tried to muster come antipathy towards Peterborough this morning but wasn’t able to manage it. I must be going soft. That said, it would be hilarious if Wednesday won by five.

Was thinking exactly this watching that
This and that @LX1.
Sunderland missed Stewart this season
So did we at times.
So did MK
Thought Luton were excellent and hope they go up.
Armchair Premier League fans wringing their hands about Kenilworth Road would be a sweet bonus
Must admit I'd like Luton to go up just purely because of the moaning you'll get from away fans next season about their ground.
Find Scott Davies interesting on gambling addiction in football. Sure there’s more recent articles but gives you the idea, speaks to clubs etc

Surely armchair fans couldn't give a toss?
It's the unfortunate match going fans who'll get to experience the woe.
I'd have thought those who regularly go to PL away games would love the novelty
Must be difficult to park there or something

10 million pounds is a drop in the ocean compared to what they'll make in the PL.

It may be a drop in the ocean but it is still 10m wasted pounds.
Give them a three year exemption on basis they donate £5m to food banks nationally. They can keep the rest.
You'd imagine that Winkelman has already offered them the use of Franchise FC wouldn't you?

I would prefer it going to the homeless.
Coventry for me. Robins deserves a crack at the top. But it's the play-offs so...which is the more romantic story post-penalty shoot out?
Robin?
Sorry @micra I should have written 'Mark Gordon Robins, (53) manager of Coventry City FC, deserves a crack at the top' 😊
I really love the thought of either club going up, but I have a feeling Coventry will sneak it. (So, congratulations in advance to Luton).
I thought you meant me for a moment.
Come on Sheff Wed...do the unthinkable!

1 down 4 to go!
Can you imagine?
