This is why we call you Pert Steve, for such legendary stats behaviour.
Going off topic already, but I’d like to suggest a Mastermind style head-to-head between Mr.Statto Steve and Memory Man Chas Harps. You could sell tickets for a clash of that magnitude!
I honestly don't know how people can remember them all !? A lot of these old 80's and even 90's players I used to watch every week, but for the life of me I can't remember half of them, I'm rubbish at the quiz stuff
Stats credit has to go to Dave Finch. We would like to see full player line-ups for all time published somehow, it's finding the time.
I'm only a recent arrival @HolmerBlue and it takes other people's recollections to remind me of games past I have been at. Hence off the top of my dome I find it impossible to recall our best midfielder, best team ever, the 'best goal ever' or 'pass of the season' unless it was all last week.
Get it set up.
I think i'm washing my hair that day though 🤣
Jake Hyde released by Wrexham
Formerly at Barnet, is he the son of Paul Hyde?
Clean sweep of player of the season awards:
…but…apparently has a dodgy injury record.
Obviously central defender is a very physical position with a fair risk of injury, but given that Forino and Taf are regularly in the treatment room, I think it would not be great to go after another injury-prone CB.
According to this article, we are also in the market for another player released by Cambridge, striker Sam Smith:
Former Reading FC striker confirms Cambridge United exit | Reading Chronicle
Weren’t we linked with him last summer? Or this January? I recognise the name
Does sound familiar. Maybe he's the new Tarpey.
You're thinking about the very standard, non controversial singer.
I'm thinking about the delightful beer brewed just up the road in Tadcaster
Looks like we won't be landing Alfie May then...he'll be scoring at AP for Charlton next season...probably!
(Wrexham are also keen...so presumably no point in Rob even opening his checkbook/billfold)
Same reason we "released" Freeman and Wing I'd imagine.
Sam Smith would be a good target for us, I have thought that all season. Pleased to see he is not too old (25?) and he scores goals at this level.
Alfie May, another proven goal scorer will be 30 when next season starts. Do we want another aged 30+ forward player?
I'd still have Alfie in a heartbeat, as long as he does not score four own goals because of muscle memory!
I think over half the clubs in league 1 and 2 would like Alfie May, some with a lot more pulling power than us unfortunately
I have no facts to support this, and anyone who is ITK can correct me, but I presume MB is not just looking at players released from L1 and L2 clubs?
I would hope that he's casting the net further afield, and potentially scouting in the National League, the Scottish leagues (we got Max from Livingston), and possibly places like Norway or Croatia?
I wish there was a website for good out of contract players called 'I've fallen out of love with the game and need a new challenge...' that Bloomy could just scroll through.
Norway and Croatia? 🤣
The secret ingredient in our recent success has been a number of players who are Christian.
Forget Croatia, we should be scouting churches.
What's wrong with Finland and Latvia?
How about Iran and Iraq, AAH2 &Taff both amazing signings😉
And of course Albania always a rich hunting ground, ok well Norfolk then.
There are some decent players in the Scottish Championship. Watch Thistle v Ayr on Friday, return next Friday, to see some.
Ahh like John Sutton. We could beat off 15 other clubs, many of a higher league to bring him in 🤩
Gibraltar's a hotbed of talent. Get some of Tjay De Barr's teammates in. Apparently Jaiden Bartolo's move to Watford collapsed due to paperwork issues.
Could always try and get Zidane Iqbal on loan from Man Utd?
I think the chance of us doing any business with United is approximately zero.
