Rumour Mill
Its come to that time of year where Twitter, Facebook and all the media has different transfer news stories over who's going where and who might be leaving.
So I thought we should have a space where we can put transfer rumours and see who we have been 'linked' with. It'll be a good idea to try and provide evidence if you can / allowed to, either screenshots or webpages on where the news has been shared.
Only 1 rule, if you think the rumour is good, hit a thumbs up, if you think its a non-starter or rubbish, thumbs down. No comments on if the source is good or not, open space without judgement

Lloyd Jones, Center back, just been released by Cambridge.. was on twitter today we are being linked with him
To get the ball rolling, seen on Twitter from a number of places that we have been linked with Lloyd Jones from Cambridge
Why have Cambridge released him?
Lionel Ritchie once played Adams Park
I wouldn't give much credence to 'EFLTransfers14'
Equally, it's possible they've regurgitated it from a legit source and not attributed it.
Please can we read the intro! Opinions on sources kept to yourself please! (That goes for everyone, not just Return2senda)
More than 1 source is reporting it on Twitter
his contract had come to an end and he chose to leave. Was their player of year this season.
no idea if he is to come to us though.
as it happens was in my lads year at school.
If talking about sources contributes to the conversation, why wouldn’t we do it?
I'm not sure that's a reliable source if I'm honest
People can handle discussions around players and source, why spend time rating players who will never appear.
The Lloyd Jones rumour seems to be gathering momentum. Sun journalist Alan Nixon broke it and now on the football insider as well.
He's been a bit more reliable on recent Wycombe transfers but they all copy eachother once it's out there so seeing it several places is probably inevitable.
Everything Football Insider do is from source - their 'exclusives' tend to be one very small snippet of info padded out for SEO, but they're very reliable.
No wonder fake news is such a problem
It doesn't @Chris, often the post is rubbished because it has been mentioned in 1 place and not on another site or that someone has posted a rumour that hasn't come through.
If we don't comment on the reliablity of the source and just focus on if the signing would a good or a bad one then it stays less personal and more focused on the club
Surely ever transfer rumour is both about whether it'd be a good signing, and how likely it'd be?
The thing we probably want to rule out is people keep saying how we "can't afford" someone, when truly they don't know.
(Unless it's some current 100k a week prem player!)
100% agree with you
Agreeing with or disagreeing with posts is pretty easy, trying to police what everyone else is doing is less likely. The thread will probably be discussing Cheese or 70s rock stars by the middle of next week anyway.
On that note, have any of the squad interviewed so far had an interesting favourite cheese? Not to be a snob but they all seem to pick something like Philadelphia or Babybel.
Someone in a pub told me that Philadelphia isn’t in fact a cheese it’s processed fat removed from morbidly obese Americans.
Ainsworth to Preston.
'Because it's near Blackburn'
If @aloysius theory is correct, we won't be signing anyone because they won't want to play for a rookie manager. In fact, everyone is leaving apart from Matt Bloomfield.
That's the sort of rumour that gets you transferred to Accrington Stanley's message board.
Have we ever signed a Lloyd before ?
I want to say yes and I believe it was Lloyd Samuel (maybe on loan for a month) but I'm only 50-50 on that
Is that a rumour we can bank on?
William (Billy) Lloyd, 1894-97, 38 goals in 68 appearances.
Probably lost a touch of pace now!
Probably still outrun Akinfenwa.
