Scowen. Not even a contest really.
Special mentions for Stryjek and Mehmeti though
@Glenactico that's the 1,2,3 in a nutshell.
Wheels a shout too, but I'll be astonished if Josh doesn't get it.
Jack Young has hardly put a foot wrong !!
Scowen 🏆️
Wing and Wheeler have been excellent too. JJ has excelled at times. Forino with some outstanding displays.
I had not realised that four of our midfielders have out scored Vokes this season. Even with his lack of goals he is key to how we play and the main reason our midfield has scored so many.
Got to be Josh, Mr Consistency in an ever changing season...
Scowen. But Stryjek was outstanding too.
Mawson for sentimental reasons.
I've gone for Max purely because Scowen was injured for quite a chunk of the opening months. Certainly wouldn't argue with anyone who went with Josh though, as he was superb! Wheeler also in the mix.
@ReturnToSenda Wiki doesn't seem to be up to date, do you have any stats on Wheeler for this season?
My perception is that for long spells of the first half of the season he wasn't even a starter, so any votes for this seem a bit second half of the season biased.
Whereas Scowen has largely been superb all season. And when he had that injury spell we all knew about it.
31 starts, including five of the first six games. Then missed seven games injured but started 26 of the final 33. Also injured for one game later in the season, so effectively 31 starts out of a possible 38.
He's played in 37 league games scoring 7 goals. Started 31 and come on as sub 6 times.
Only played 2 games in Sep/Oct due to injury in late August, both of these as sub before he started against Port Vale on Nov 1st. Apart from that two month period he has been involved in every game bar one I think.
Scowen. Only Max really comes close.
The likes of Wing and Wheeler have had excellent spells but Josh's level of consistency across the season is out on its own.
Josh for me.
Or alternatively started 2/3 of the games.
Knew he'd not always been a regular, but I accept injury took some of that chance away.
A spell in centre midfield though as well unless I'm making that up
If Josh doesn't win by a landslide I'd suggest some kind of mass counselling / eye testing event in the Vere.
Feel sorry for Max, any other season, but it's got to be Josh
Sir Josh of Scowenshire.
I voted for Alfie, but Josh should win.
It will be interesting to see who wins Player's Player, as it is usually different from the fan vote. I have a feeling Wheels may win that one.
Josh Scowen got my vote, Max was my second choice with Chris Forino as my third/young player of the year choice (if there was one).
Think there used to be a most improved player award (possibly wwisc) that normally goes to a young player but I'd go for Wheels for that.
Clint Easton Award
Scowen for me, closely followed by Max. Also Grimmer should also be mentioned for having a good season.
I totally agree with that, @StrongestTeam.
Has wheally emerged from the Wheelderness this season.
SCOWEN !! Could so easily have been scowent. Commitment of the highest order. An example to all.
I see what you mean but I wouldn’t give that to a senior player.
Tjay De Barr for most improved.
I really don’t get this TJ De Barr thing. I have yet to see him have a good game but there you go, we all see things differently.
Slightly related, an account that follows the progress of overseas Gibraltar players also nominated Tjay for one of their awards: https://twitter.com/LlanitoNL/status/1658206067019460609
Currently losing to Jack Breed but reckon if Wycombe fans catch on he'll romp home.
I think @Blue_since_1990 just voted for Jack Breed.
