In other news, I just watched Spurs against Brighton on Match of the Day, and if that’s not proof enough that VAR only exists to ensure the rich clubs win then nothing is.
So the lino who (barely) elbowed Andy Robertson has been stood down while the FA investigate, but Robertson's provocation goes unpunished. That's where we're at, is it?
I agree the lino should be stood down, but I've seen next to no criticism of Robertson's provocation. The Mitrovic incident the other week should have been a watershed moment. (And who would elbow JJ? He's the nicest bloke in the world.)
Robertson (who is no bigger shithouse than several of our own) is being looked at too but the FA will take their time as is their lumbering way, the lino is a quicker one to look at as pgmol appointments are made for individual games.
Lino's and refs do need to be seen to be the adults in the room btw or you'd have chaos.
...and VAR still sucks. Clearly it just doubles the debate and makes officials doubt themselves.

Brett Huxtable and Gavin Ward spring instantly to mind
I dare say you could roll off 100 ref names 😜
At least
Uriah Rennie and the 'Thing from Tring'
Both thought they were the main spectacle.
Gurnham Singh. Never forget.

An interesting theory, but one which is not supported by the facts.
This website How VAR decisions have affected every Premier League club in 2022-23 (espn.co.uk) shows the net effect of VAR decisions on each PL team. The biggest beneficiaries are Brentford and Fulham, each with +5.
Those with negative numbers include Arsenal and Chelsea (-1 each), Spurs (-3) and Man City (-4).
Looks like what you see with your eyes can always be proved wrong by statistics.
It was one game where the officials massively got it wrong for Brighton.
Incredible var didn't give the pen for Mitoma for being stamped on.

Would you have the same view if a lino elbowed JJ?

Wonder if they’re up for a friendly against our development squad. They have space on 16th April…
I'm not very neutral as I'd probably ban Robertson for life just for being himself.
But surely any sensible view of the incident from all angles shows the player laid hands on the official, then the official went to shrug him off.
Pretty nothing incident probably needing no further action either way.
Terrible signal to send out to the lower levels where often the referee is the only official in an isolated field.
player runs out from behind grabbing the linesman and presumably shouting at him. Linesman unaware lashes out involuntary self preservation.
the player should be the one facing the rap not the linesman.
Not sure FGR think he's the nicest bloke in the world after the game up there in November!
What a complete joke of a fixture list that is. People need to work to put food on the table and see their families in the midst of playing football!

The players probably love it. It’s the supporters families I feel sorry for.
Two days either side of the California game is a nice touch
Rising Ballers Kensington? A very genuine DOL from me.
Robertson is one of the snidest players in the league. There's noone we have on the same planet as him.
QPR into the bottom 3 as it stands
Two down now.
Ouch, not sure he survives another pasting
2-1 now.
With 25% possession Cambridge somehow holding Bolton and they’ve had 5 shots to Bolton’s 1. Funny old game.
One for the USA fan base, Anis Mehmeti’s Bristol City host Middlesborough on ESPN+ this afternoon.
Looking forward to that one on TV.
BT, I think.
