@username123 in answer to your question, my source & detail as to how bad the terrace currently is can be found below:
A family member was being interviewed for a position at the club and they give a detailed low-down on some of the things that they would have to work around.
One of those key topics was the terrace. Its foundations are starting to give way under the stand, fault lines can be seen is parts of the concrete and brickwork and the steel used as a framework, before the concrete has rusted away in parts. This steel should be water-tight with the concrete. The fact that water is getting in, tells you that something is wrong!
I imagine that if you compared a sold out terrace during our FA Cup or League Cup runs to a "sold out" terrace at our playoffs last year, the numbers would be very reduced today!
As for the road, even though this will be built onto private land, it will need planning permission from the council. Which ever way the road will go, it will need to have surveys done, wildlife risk assessments, discussions on potential habitat loss & public meetings to sell the introduction of this access road to the community as a minimum. There will be at least 1 objection (there always is!) which will also delay the process.
The fact that this movement HASN'T been started yet, will mean that Rob & the club have at least 9-18 months wait before work can begin
It was a shame that Phil in his latest chat with Rob didn’t ask about the road. He asked about the Trust position, which led onto discussions to improvements at the ground and training ground. He asked about season tickets and players contracts. Missed opportunity or is absolutely nothing happening, so it’s never mentioned!!!
Anyone find the bit at the end where Rob tries to shoehorn his brother in to do co-comms a bit awkward?
Can't say I found that update particularly enlightening or uplifting. Talk seems to have changed from wether he'd sell to wether he'll take external investment. Few announcements promised for this week.
Might be the end of my season ticket if they go up again, they're too bloody high as it is ! So to put them up even higher during the financial Times we are having to put up with atm would be a bit out of order
Football really is broken. So much money sloshing around and yet they manage to actually make it harder for clubs at our level to be sustainable.
Of course, they can't even come up with simple rules to restrict gamesmanship, so I am not holding my breath on them re-designing the league system's financial structure.
I'm all for investing in order to grow (although I'd like to see some progress to that) but so far we've gone from £400k losses to £3.5m per year before we do anything with the infrastructure which is all now a few years older. Yeah, it's there money for now but if the move to 90% was to allow the Couhigs to invest without the trust having to match it when will they do so and why did they need to borrow from the trust. Also where is the trust oversight here.
Thats what you get by the FA proving they aren't fit for purpose. They sold most of their rights to the Premier League which has led to them scratching around for handouts. Then whatever they get given, is then taken to fund programmes like 'Respect' and not see it through. The one shining light might be the Government's White Paper coming out on the effectiveness of the FA and bringing in a structure which means the funds can be shared equally
They always took great delight in calling us "non-league" when we got promoted to the Football League. Then they hilariously got relegated to the Conference and the residual schadenfreude still carries on.
Surely they can't even think about increasing the Frank Adams season tickets? They must be up there with the highest in the league?
They got away with the massive increase 2 years ago due to the delirium of promotion. But an increase after a likely late falter, and erosion of star players in the summer would not go down well.
Comments
Don’t rythmic sound waves such as loud drumming add to structural collapse risk? Good job we banned it then.
Yep. If noise risks ruining the structure, the terrace on this year's form should be pretty safe!
The road is coming. Believe.
What ever happened to "bounce around if you love Wycombe?"
Or Rhubarb Rhubarb….

ie.... never going to happen
@HolmerBlue I didn't want to say it but its not looking promising
Just say it how it is, I find a couple of beers help

Anything around season ticket prices?
Coming soon, keen keep low but costs rising, need to spend money etc etc...

But we seem to be getting to the stage where we won't have a pot to piss in let alone spend any money on improvements!
Financial position does seem rather impurrfect….
I think you mean the felinecial position
Not wanting to comment on your personal finances, (none of my business), but do you think the club are immune from similar cost stresses as yours?
Agreed. No one likes price rises, but we’re all having to put up with them, club included.
How can anyone afford to freeze prices right now?
Simplistically they cannot, the best we can expect is that they do not add more than the rise in input prices to their output price.
I'm not the one whos just spunked over 3 million in a year, then expecting others to help pay for it. Perhaps they should've been a bit more careful.

Yep, £500 or so for a league 1 season ticket is already a bit on the sketchy side!
Only fair the residents pay for a new roof!
