The Cowleys philosophy was very direct physical football. But at Pompey they seemed to have tried to be a bit more easy on the eye, but they seem to have got caught between the two.
Watching Raggett and Co, attempt to pass it around the back four, before being pressurised into a hopeful punt was comical.
Can’t disagree with that. I did notice that Neil had restated his dislike of them on Twitter today, replying to Gab Sutton, who seems to be doing PR for the Cowleys.
Not surprised at this. That’s the only risk of having a manager for so long, he’s recruited each team member himself and had them around him for years, so he won’t want to be without them, leaving a massive hole in our set up.
I have no idea why I don't want the Cowleys. I just don't. Perhaps it's all the PR they've been given by mainstream media. Perhaps it's how dreadful his Portsmouth side were earlier this season. It maybe unconcious bias because of these things but what I know is there's something about them that doesn't feel right for our club.
If, of course, they joined I'd be giving them the benefit of the doubt. To be fair his post match quotes on bbc were a fair analysis of what teams need to do when playing us and how they weren't good enough.
For this to work, I think we need the next encumbents to have three qualities spread across the team - a dreamer, a realist and a worker. We certainly had that with GA and Dobbo and they combined magnificently to get the best out of all of us.
Ainsworth hasn't even left yet and we've lurched from the Beaconsfield Town manager to Jesse Marsch, a Premier League and former European competition level manager. This is going to be a historic week for the Gasroom.
What unbearable change this last year has seen. Losing Bayo, then Stewart out of nowhere, Stockdale leaving, Mawson re-signing then retiring, Mehmeti going and now this, the worst of all.
Ridiculous that we've lost our 2 best players and our manager in the space of 3 weeks.
If they all go then although it’s much earlier than ever expected / hoped, then I’d really only want Bloomfield. Anyone else (without the support of Dobbo) and I think we will just self implode. However with Blooms it gives us a chance to negotiate the end of the season as well as the summer ahead.
Whilst I understand it’s still so early in his managerial career, we have seen the success in standing by Gaz early doors and developing as a manager from a much more dangerous starting point.
I think many Gasroomers (myself included) are going to be needing to get some serious crystal ball repairs done after some of the speculation and counter-speculation that's been flying around this week.
But then if you can't speculate pointlessly on a forum, what can you do?
I may be alone in not being dreadfully keen on giving it to JJ for a while. Yesterday I'd read about some kind of Darius Charles/ Bean/ JJ hybrid on here which is utter insanity.
If GA really is recruiting the entire football coaching setup from WWFC to follow him to QPR, then if he comes back for half the playing staff in the summer doesn't this present us with a new opportunity.
I think it's actually better if he takes all the coaching staff with him as any new manager will want to build his own coaching group.
I would still appoint JJ and Alfie until the end of the season. Our only slight chance of scraping into the play offs is by keeping continuity. A permanent decision on the manager can then be made in the summer perhaps even by a new owner.
At least the Transfer Window is shut so Gareth can't grab Scowen and Wing etc untill next season.
Yep. While it's a lovely fantasy to have loved ex or current players taking over, we need someone quality, ready to walk straight in. Would be a hell of a learning curve for any of these names mentioned.

Certainly don't want the Cowleys.
That book is hardly the bible

Sorry @arnos_grove, this wasn't meant to look so confrontational! Judy curious as they seem extremely divisive.
I’ve got a meeting I can’t miss at 9, I guarantee it will break sometime around then.
Josh Hart off too
Dave Wates left to turn off the lights?

Oh fuck. Sauce?

Time is moving very slowly today...

Ketchup but not sure if that’s relevant right now
Urgh
In fairness, Ainsworth has had a lot of (entirely deserved) PR from the press!
Jesse Marsch speaks American English and probably wants something to do until he gets a big job in the summer. Outside bet?
Can’t be long now until we announce it if the guardian has reported the bit about training
I was holding some hope Dobson would be our new manager... gutting
Same

Take the Feckin lot why don’t ya! That QPR keeper coach will be in charge come Saturday.

How about Gape as player-manager?
One of the Generals, knows the club, more likely to be not playing than playing....
Said originally in jest but thinking about it....
Yeah that looks to be that.
Half of Tony Adams issues at the start here were that he didn't have a trusted team or links at this level. The other issues were mainly being a twat.

We all go support QPR?

ffs @StrongestTeam this is no time for poetry !!
Tony’s issues at the start
Mainly just were that,
He didn't have a trusted team
And mainly being a twat.
