We want you to stay, Gareth Ainsworth!
Talks are presumably ongoing and I want Gareth to make the best decision for himself and his family.
However if talks are still continuing I guess the outcome is not decided. I would be sad if anyone casually dropping into the Gasroom gained the impression from our discussions of 'what if .....' that we didn't care about the result.
So I just want to say, unreservedly, clearly and as loud as I can on here:

It would genuinely make my year if he stays.
Couldn’t agree more, will be like the heart ripped out of our club. QPR are a joke.
I think we should start grouping outside of the training ground waiting for Gareth to arrive. If he arrives in his car, he isn't allowed to leave as he might have just cleared his office out. If he arrives on his bike, he's free to come and go!
I don't think GA would feel disrespected, as all of this talk has come from him being in talks already! That being said, I very much want him to stay too.
Gareth, if you are in the waiting room at Loftus Road reading this while Les Ferdinand makes copies of the contract in the next room, put your coffee down and run!
If it’s not decided today then the Gasroom must serenade him outside his house tonight. @Shev get composing!
I am not going to be liable for him deciding to go somewhere with better songwriters!
Interestingly, I remember when we were nailed on to lose Martin O’Neill to Forest, a number of hardy souls travelled to Shrewsbury midweek for some pony LDV cup match to effectively beg him to stay. And it worked!
Who are we playing on Saturday?
To be fair, gets Michael Nyman at QPR.
Lionel Richie we need you.
We've got Kate Bush.
We’re saved! Kate and Gaz jamming together at the promotion party in June.
That’s it defo going now!
Alternatively for another hand of fate who are QPR playing Saturday 😲
Miracles do happen very occasionally - I remember Torquay.

I wonder if it’s unprecedented for a manager to part company with his club when on the brink of a historic second promotion to its highest ever level within the space of three years ? It’s the position we’ve reached against all the odds which makes the possibility (probability?) so excruciatingly painful.
I think you're getting carried away, @micra
We are really not on the brink of promotion.
Not now.
I should have said “possibly”. I got a touch of the BFPitis (or something).
If we’re as upset as this, how must it feel if you’re a player.
Lots of players here will be very grateful of the opportunity and could easily be wary for the future. To your point above I think our success makes approaches inevitable.
That's a very specific unusual set of circumstances of course. But a manager going for promotion / play offs leaving to a higher league club certainly isn't anything unusual is it?
Interestingly is leaving after our (arguably) most successful spell (5 consecutive wins in League 1) in our history.
And I think any 'hopes' that he will fail at QPR and be back within a few months are disrespectful. He's proved (I think) over the past few games what a really, really good manager (management team) he (they) is (are) and I honestly expect (and genuinely hope) him to thrive there.
Can you use more sets of brackets next time...?
I'll try (maybe)
😋
Hang on, why am I smiling on the worst day of my life...?
