@dariusz28 Either you are being very defeatist or unbelievable or a mixture of both. If a player has ever had to retire mid-season for us, Wycombe have been quite quick to announce it (like with Matt Bloomfield). If his wages (around £7K a week) are also off our books, it will help with the projections but unless you have something concrete, lets try and be positive
Don’t you just hate these “subtle” hints suggesting that the writer is desperately hoping that his/her/their educated (?) guess will prove accurate and they can eventually go “nah nahna nah nah, told you so”.
Everyone laughed at me (and still does) regarding "Taff's Revsgate". Sounded very far-fetched and fabricated, but I will have you know - I have ZERO interest in making up stories.
Not afraid to say that I got my estimation from the FM23 Database. I know that its a game & to take things with a pinch of salt, however I reckon its in the right ball park. He's easily on our biggest contract as he has been on £25-£32K for the last 5 seasons*.
I'm more than happy to be proved wrong and this is just based on a Championship player coming to a smaller-finaniced club and having some expectations being met by player and/or agent.
I think it’s safe to say Mawson is on a chunk of change for a wage. How that’s structured is another thing. A pay as you play deal would have been sensible.
The big picture is that he’s still so young and with an ability that should have seen him win International caps. And if he misses out on his career it will be tragic for him.
The fact that he trained for a month and played in a ‘behind closed doors’ friendly yet the signing still surprised everyone suggests the club are doubling down on plugging any intel leaks that might reveal injuries, signings etc.
Gaz and Dobbo clearly determined to run a tighter closed shop than ever, which might frustrate those who feel distanced from the club but if management feel it gives them match day advantage is fine by me.

What makes you say that? Or is it just a hunch?
Gaz literally said that Mawson, Gape and Thompson were "in the background" - implying working their way back.
Don't believe anything Gaz says pre or post match. It's the hope that kills you! 🤷♂️
it won’t be a discussion point for much longer sadly.

Hear hear to that @Otter87.

Unless it really is Darius Charles of course.
I don’t believe anything on here unless it comes from @thecatwwfc
Where have you managed to come across 7k a week out of interest?
I think that’s the same source that suggests Vokes is on the same salary as Adam Leathers….. load of codswallop
Ah the Horgan 10k a week one.
There's no amount of space that can be found in league 1 worth that!
Struggling to imagine Darius running to the gasroom to spread such gossip.

For what it’s worth, I believe you on Tafa revsgate.
Thanks. Feeling the love.
To be fair - my credibility now means my next story could be very fabricated..... ;-)

With great power, etc. etc.
I thought our (and yours) recent politicians disproved that theory
He’s not even close to being one of the top paid players as it’s hugely balanced towards appearance money.
FM23 has Vokes on £700pw. It’s nonsense.
If Mawson to Luton had happened you'd have real ITK status.
Glad it didn't for every reason though. Not least that it'd have meant that we'd oddly not have let him play for a month so the transfer could happen!

It's been the longest ever spell out for someone missing a game as a "Precautionary" thing.
However, if this helps save his career and allows him to play on beyond 30, then brilliant.

A month? Gaz said 2 weeks didn't he?
See website article posted now 👍
Darius Charles amongst the gasroom. You love to see it

Sorry @dariusz28, I guess I was hoping it not to be true
If ever there was an ITK poster we hopefully was wrong. What a real shame.
