I just can’t understand how anyone would not think Max is an excellent keeper after the clean sheets he has achieved so far this season. His positional sense is as good as the brilliant Martin Taylor and far better than Stockdale or Allsop.
He is a great signing and I hope we can hang onto him for a few years yet.
Also, I believe the signing of the young Hull City keeper is a master stroke by the management team.
I think they could be treated more like conventional set-pieces. Bournemouth came up with an incredible routine from a kick-off the other year which led to a goal. You'd probably only get away with each routine once, but I'm sure it's an area set-piece coaches look at (not that we have one!).
Oxford got their first corner within 90 seconds on Tuesday. Max comes out into a crowded 6 six yard box, makes a clean catch and immediately launches a pin point kick to Mehmeti. I like Max.
Thought his refusal to let go of the ball after Derbys second yesterday was the stuff of legends. However, not entirely sure how he got away without a card.
He was booked. However he only had the ball in his hands for less than a second before the first Derby player was trying rugby tackle him to get the ball. It kicked off from there and I feel that Max was hard done by to get booked
Someone made the point that it was our ball - even some on the Derby forum are saying that. Not sure why it is wrong for him to hang onto it when being assaulted!
I was toying with the idea of starting other appreciation threads for players after yesterday, but then realized I would need to start at least eleven more!
Had it in his hands for less than a second before being grabbed by Derby Player. Released it within a second or two once the grabbing and kicking of him stopped. If not attacked en masse by Derby and had kept hold of it I’d agree a booking would be in order, but as Shev says it’s not unreasonable to hold on while being Max-handled
Spot on @carrickblue - it sums up the Derby forum that they see our player getting assaulted as their club being victimized. Almost an encapsulation of the past couple of seasons with them!
I usually decry the fact that ice hockey still allows fighting as part of the sport, but if ever there was a moment I would have liked the same allowance in football, Stryjek v Collins would have been it. (Actually, Bayo versus the Fleetwood bench a few years back, but keeping it recent).
I agree, the man is already a legend in my eyes even if one of our regular posters thinks he’s one of the worst ‘keepers in League One. In my opinion he’s one of the best and getting better by the week. Almost by accident (Nathan Bishop etc) we have found a superb player and great character.

Max is the nuts, best we've had since Taylor
Got this off of Max's Instagram. It's clean sheets of Polish keepers playing in leagues outside Poland.
Call him up!
Ah, but he doesn't score enough bicycle kicks, as per the evolving goalkeepers of our times.
A surprising amount of Polish goalkeepers in Cyprus
Nine million bicycles in Beijing
Why do I get the feeling Bischofshofen is a mouthful even for their own fans?

He didn't. Both he and Collins got booked.

In fairness, he did repeatedly go down and hold onto the ball as Collins tried to get it. Brilliant stuff.
Max holding on to the ball far beyond what is reasonable was both brilliant and hilarious .

I absolutely love Max - a wind up merchant to opposition fans with the absolute quality to back it up.

Admittedly, I do worry that he's going to go and get himself sent off for something insane like chokeslamming someone.

Thought his kicking was pretty good yesterday after recent criticism.
What is 'chokeslamming' please?

What about Bayo v Hylton?
You need some element of contest
The handful of fans at Bayo's first Wycombe game in France got to witness the big man's right hook as he piled into a melee following a foul.
