Well done. Little in it as far as shots and shots on target are concerned. Bit of luck with your first, blocked shot/cross ricocheted off Forsyth and landed on Vokes's foot, well put away. After that we saw ball boys juggling with the ball to run the clock down, 5 minutes for a throw in (exaggeration to make a point). The other 4 goals were all well worked and/or taken. As a football fan I don't like the Ainsworthball tactics but perfectly understand them. You just about edged it and we can't complain too much at having our run ended. Good luck for the rest of the season. We weren't at our best today. A good share of that was down to you.
The ref? Consistent in his inconsistency. Very poor IMO and I'm a ref myself. First 6 minutes. Missed a push by Forsyth. Missed a foul on Hourihane, Another foul missed I can't remember from whom.... and then the dropped ball. What was he thinking? Your player went down, TV didn't show what happened. Play continued and then, when the last 2 touches on the ball had been by Derby players, he stops play to allow the physio on. The restart, he gives you the ball, not to give it back to us but to play on. What was that all about?
Nearly forgot, Hanlan committed a foul but yellow? I didn't think so.
Edged it? I thought we were in control for the large majority from the moment Vokes hit the net. An outstanding performance. Ainsworth tactically spot on again. If we play like that we'll win the playoffs. Crazy when you consider the amount of players missing / not featuring. Outstanding.
I thought that was one of the highest quality League 1 football matches I’ve seen in a very long time. So often games at this level (and higher) are decided by a mistake. Today there were hardly any errors whatsoever from either side.
Derby played some really nice attacking football and clearly have some very good individuals. But I thought we countered that with an absolute masterclass in tactical organisation, both in defence and attack. Every player executed their individual jobs to perfection, resulting in a superb team performance.
Hanlan MOTM - fantastic display and a constant headache for their defence. The ‘special mentions’ list is too long to get into. Although I will say that DeBarr had a great impact on the game and made an absolutely vital contribution from the bench. That boy is made of the right stuff!
Respect to you for coming on here after losing, mate. I am sure you are disappointed, but did not disappear.
There were some serious Derby fouls missed or unpunished too. Collins basically clotheslined our keeper in the first half. Only a yellow was shown for Scowen being seriously scythed down, etc. I think it would have been a tough game to referee though - full blooded is an understatement.
Brilliant performance and it would have been an utter travesty not to have won.
Their first came utterly against the run of play, a quick break following Hanlan being tackled on the edge of their box.
Genius corner routine, and a really good piece of play by De Barr to create the 3rd.
Bit fraught at the end with their late goal, but all in one of the great league wins of our time.
Their players conduct when Max was holding onto the ball after their 2nd looked to stumble a bit into assault territory, but I dare say we'd have been irate if faced with a keeper trying to waste time like that too.

Tom, I admire so much of what you do and say but why do you have to resort to gutter language.
A fair bit politer than some of the Derby fans about our chairman.
It's the lingo of the snooker hall!
The most satisfying regular season result in quite some time. Derby fans gnashing their teeth on their forum.
The Silence of the Lambs
The inexplicable conspiracy to destroy Derby for no obvious reason takes another step forwards.
Love it Tom!
Fantastic result! One of Ainsworth’s best.
Fantastic result, fantastic performance. Wholeheartedly deserved we created the better chances - outstanding!
Added emphasis.
fucking cheats are worse than cheats. Why limit oneself by omitting certain words when they fit so well?
yep, there's some raging bitterness over there. Good.
Evidently we were awful and they just had a bad day. A common theme in all our wins!
Cheats never prosper!

An extra long opposition view is in order for Monday please @bluntphil
Presumably we can put the "wouldn't give McCleary a new contract" nonsense to bed now?
(and Vokes, JJ etc)
Agree @Glenactico it was a superb advert for all that is good (& little that is bad) about L1 football
Anyone suggesting McCleary shouldn't get a new contract is/was a bit of a pleb.
RTB podcast name for this week sewn up already.

If it runs to hours I'm prepared to take a day off work.
Personal favourite from the Derby forum: "We took a fart to a pooing contest"
Max seems to have really upset them

Are some of their fans really blaming the pitch??
