hopefully he’ll play there every week, instead of sitting on the bench at a top championship or lower end premier league club, which would only slow his development.
Just remind me, please. What was @eric_plant’s point about a Crystal Palace player? I can only think of Eze. Did we miss a trick in not making a bid for him or something? I’m genuinely confused.
Links to previous posts never seem to work on my iPhone. Perhaps I have one of those nasty software issues.
Can’t say I find that 100% reassuring but, if Darius (who knows a thing or two about knees) thinks Mawson’s knee/knees is/are in bits, that’s good enough for me. Doesn’t augur too well for the prospects of seeing him on a regular basis for the rest of the season though.
Pierre linked with Wimbledon. Doesn’t get in the Sutton team. You see where I’m going with this ……. With Tafazolli struggling to stay fit and Grimmer Forino and Wakely all operating primarily on the right side, is Pierre worth bringing in as a backup option?
We've been fortunate that Tafazolli and Mawson haven't been injured simultaneously yet. We might not keep Mawson this window. Even if we do, Tafa has proneness to injury and so does Mawson. If both are unavailable simultaneously, then we're a bit stuffed.
Edit - and we know Pierre can play in a 3 (in the centre like Tafa), as well as the left side of a 2. He's also arguably 'Wycombe-ised' already, so could hit the ground running.
I'm not suggesting he would play week in week out.
I also thought that was odd. But with a bit of Googling, it turns out the Transfer speculation section of their forum is off limits unless you're logged in (to stop the local rag running with any rumours as "news stories" apparently!). I couldn't be arsed to get a login and all that, but I suspect there would be plenty of Mehmeti stuff for anyone who wanted to.
How about the theory that we have allowed a mythical £1 million clause, so that clubs we are in negotiations with, don't think we have 3-5 million spare ?
I must say I am going to follow Mehmeti's career closely, with keen interest. He definitely has the potential to be the greatest Wycombe discovery. Eze is fantastic, and I still expect him to break into the top six clubs and the England setup at some point, but as a loanee, we can't really lay claim to the discovery, despite giving him his league debut.
Hopefully Anis ends up at the right chain of clubs - I assume that even with talent there can be luck involved, as far as playing under managers who believe in you, etc. Personally I definitely think he is PL bound, it is just a case of where his peak is.
He's not even been able to get on Sutton's bench, let alone in the first 11. By all accounts he's not the player he was and has not been for 2/3 years. Such a pity.

I think you're thinking of Ikpeazu
Not sure we got much of a few at all for I've at the time
It's the way everyone has called shenanigans about matey executive leaving for Bristol City and suggesting he's leaked the clause fee.
As if they think the agent will keep it secret if any clubs ask!
Didn't Liverpool once weasel out of that Suarez clause saying it wasn't "legal?"
I wonder if we could do that!
I feel a bit bad for him it's only Bristol City
He's already good enough for a better side than that
Maybe that's why it's so late in the window, he was waiting for other offers that never came about

"Where did the rumour come from".
The bloke on the gasroom who broke Mehmeti being off before everyone else!

Sorry, guys. Just scrolled back and saw who the Crystal Palace bloke is/was. Didn’t know he was now advising Bristol City.
My point about not being able to access previous posts via carried down links still applies. Also, have to punch the screen to get thumbs to register.

Checked Bristol City's factually incorrectly named One team in Bristol forum, expecting a decent thread on him and...
there isn't even a thread at all!

Whilst I may be wrong, I think that is too (on Ibe).
The Tyson one is in line with what was reported at the time though.

You want to sign a player that can’t get in the Sutton team?
Two words: Curtis Thompson
I would certainly have Aaron Pierre back.
Yes I know, and we signed Keith Scott from Lincoln’s reserves. But those are the exceptions that prove the rule.
In the Mickey Bell thread you confused Bristol City with Bristol Rovers, so tread carefully as you interact with our western friends.
True, and I wouldn't have Pierre back myself - I feel he's had his time at our level

I can’t see anyone else coming in. It seems we are cutting our cloth to reduce the £3M deficit that Rob told us about.

Gone three in the Chair Metropolis. It really is the hope that kills you.
Scenes when Anis stubs his toe bumping into the incoming Phil Alexander around a corner and subsequently fails the medical.

Sounds like that could have been the only bid? Fingers of Phil Alexander all over it. No ‘poaching ban’ clause in Phil’s contract then?
This is a very good point! If we are only going to get one million either way, I would rather he goes somewhere where he can play.
I believe it was pointed out his employment doesn't officially start until tomorrow so any such clause would be moot anyway.
