It's a matchday thread - we are going to be happy when scoring, unhappy when conceding, etc etc. Or are you doing heel clicks at Port Vale's equalizer because everything is so positive?
whilst I absolutely understand why our coaching staff ignore the likes of us, I do wish they would give some credence to the likes of Danny Senda & Keith Ryan, who definitely know what they are talking about. Senda talked the other week about using our wide players & switching play to create gaps & width; today Ryan is talking about the best way to utilise Vokes.
FFS, as I type this we concede another soft set piece goal where the smallest guy on the park beats Vokes to the ball, Obita slips & their sub just gets his head to it to beat Max.
We've got an old squad that's stretched by injuries at the moment - I'm not saying we should make subs for the sake of it, but they can be quite useful for maintaining energy levels... which dip badly in the second half.
The lack of subs is irritating, but the bigger problem is having a squad full of technical talent and not using them effectively at all. I understand we're low on confidence, and Vale aren't a bad side, but at home we need to take the game to them, which we've struggled badly to do all season.
Port Vale are a decent enough side. I actually had them down to be up there come the end of the season. They were my dark horse pick for what my opinion is worth.
A draw, given the current circumstances is not the worst outcome. Losing to Cambridge and drawing with Derek Adams' mob could prove costly, however.
@thecatwwfc that's clearly not what anyone was saying, the lack of subs didn't lead to conceding a goal, the lack of subs may well be why we look rather flat & lacking in energy & seemed incapable of changing the course of the game.
I know @Erroll_Sims . Frustration on my part. Just seems to be a lot of finger pointing when things go against us.
To be fair, we've lost 1 game in 7 - and that 1 game can be deemed "unlucky". Yes, we think we should be beating these teams on paper - but there is no evidence to suggest why that's a given.

Honestly, what is going on with our defending? Used to be so strong, just look so shaky all the time.
It can’t only be down to Scowen missing.
You could see that number 10 unmarked the entire time

How has Hanlan looked? He has been a huge miss IMHO.
Funny how introducing a bunch of subs made Port Vale more energetic.
Why aren't we allowed to make more than one sub? It's absolutely killing us.

My word. I've genuinely got no comeback to that. Yes that's what I'm doing. You win.
What is wrong with GA & substitutions?
We need to do something to change the shape of the game.
I think we get a rebate after the game for unused subs. It is literally the only logical explanation at this point.
He is too wise to listen to the six fingered unwashed masses like us, or something.
We look disorganised at both ends of the pitch. Coaching ?
We concede a goal due to poor marking and suddenly it's GA's fault for not bringing on a sub.
I’m watching Cunk on Britain instead, it’s very good.
We're going to score here.

Passes! Intentional passes!
maybe it’s because I stopped watching

I didn't agree with the five subs rule but with it existing and everyone else using it you kind of need to match them.

Despite everything I've said! Get Kaikai on!!!!! Against tiring legs, he's a threat.
Unless we get a late winner it is 14 points lost from winning positions, and 3 gained from losing positions.
It hurts a little more scoring two beauties but conceding two grubby equalizers.

Couldn't hold the lead of a tiny fluffy dog right now.
After 3 good wins in a row, then getting 2 points from Cambridge, Morecambe and Vale is poor.
With Vokes on the pitch, and not even trying to cross it in, makes it even more galling.
I need therapy
Definition of madness from us. Just trying to tick off the points to 50 now.
