@our_frank yes a tricky ask from the regional accents dept. Most folk don’t recognise Pam Ayers accent as old Oxfordshire / Berkshire borders assuming she is from further west. A winging ‘Gordon Brittas’ as about as much as we could ask for I guess.
Isn’t it one of the 4th officials responsibilities? It was unnecessary when he had to run off down behind the ad boards towards the tunnel to retrieve one though, our bench might have helped but perhaps they felt they shouldn’t leave the technical area?!
Well spotted and one of my favourite ‘chart battles’.
I’ve just realised that I’ve inadvertently used two solo efforts by members of the Spice Girls in the last three episodes. Do I continue to plough this furrow and complete the set?
I listened to the episode earlier and specifically listened to see what music Phil would choose. I didn’t know it. For non-spice girls aficionados, what was it?
It was the single ‘Out Of Your Mind’ by True Steppers with Victoria Beckham on vocal duties (also ft. Dane Bowers & Pitsea).
An insipid UK garage inspired affair which failed to reach the top spot due to the far superior Spiller & Groovejet outselling them comprehensively (sung by an actual posh person).
Nooo…I’d successfully buried the memory of this horrendous track until now, but now I’ve got the particularly cringey bit at the end on a loop in my brain.
This is bad.
“… True Steppers, you're out of your mind
Ice Cream, you're out of your mind
10-Below, you're out of your mind
Dane, you're out of your mind
… This tune's gonna punish you”
The last line is indeed accurate, in fairness, but possibly not in the way they mean.
Thanks Phil a very entertaining listen and thanks to Uri if I learn nothing else this week apart from “Peterborough stank out the championship” in Spanish I will be happy.
Listening on headphones the interviews were all on the right hand channel only which was a little confusing to start with as I thought my cans had crapped out.
There was a distant music sound bed on the left channel, so I just pictured the interviews taking place in a hotel lobby. Ah, audio, theatre of the mind!
Call me neurotic (I’ve been called worse) but I thought both Freeman and Forino sounded as if they might be suffering from the common cold. Hope I’m wrong and that they’ll both be raring to go tomorrow evening.
Shame we are out of the EFL Trophy as it represented the best opportunity of getting famous double act "Catchpole and the Polecat" on commentary duties.

To be fair, that was a bit embarrassing when we didn't have a football

Tip top music choice for the opposition view.

No
If you wannabe assured of your status as a Wycombe legend, then yes.
I knew I recognized it straightaway but it took me a few minutes to work out who and why.
sent me down a UK garage rabbit hole, which was a nice treat on a Monday.

@bluntphil the expression ‘plough this furrow’ in the context of your artists does have a somewhat unintended (I’m sure) non woke ‘quality’ to it.

Thanks, Phil, although I am none the wiser! I’ve heard of VB (nee Adams) but none of the others.
Pearls before swines.
keep up the good work.

100% the responsibility of the 4th official.

I walk the dog with only one earbud in so that I can still stop and chat to people. Luckily it's usually the right one.

That had to be the title really, although I imagine some consideration was given to "Lewis Wing's Fantastic Balls"
Genuinely, that was second on the list. Long may they continue to have a positive impact on our season!
I nearly crashed the car thanks to Lewis Wing's Fantastic Balls
The UCAS Baresi just became the best Wycombe Wanderers nickname.
Call me neurotic (I’ve been called worse) but I thought both Freeman and Forino sounded as if they might be suffering from the common cold. Hope I’m wrong and that they’ll both be raring to go tomorrow evening.
I recorded that chat with Big Chris a couple of weeks back so worry not. Nick also appeared to be in rude health post match at MK.

Perhaps it was a long incubation, @bluntphil !
Seriously, I hope whatever is keeping Chris out is really minor.
Complete confidence in Jack Grimmer of course. Different styles of course but Jack had been playing superbly recently.
Too many of courses there of course.
