Wrexham
Not sure if this has been flagged before but the 'documentary' on Netflix about Wrexham and their celebrity owners is surprisingly ... well pretty damn good.
Doesn't take the p1ss at us lower league clubs. Is very sympathetic and honest about a footballers lot in the lower leagues. Does honest and poignant glimpses into the lives of ordinary fans (like us). There is a lot to like in this show. And who knows it might make some people look at clubs outside of the cesspool at the top of the pyramid.

I'll have a search on Netflix, what's it titled?
It's on Disney Plus I think
"Welcome to Wrexham", it's available on Disney +
Ooops my bad. Yeah it is.
It certainly won't be taking the piss out of lower league clubs because it was created by the Wrexham owners. Very good watch though.
Thanks guy's. don't have Disney so no go I guess.
I know I got a 6 month free trial through o2 but not sure it is available anymore.
I may be wrong but subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. If you have kids it may be worth the investment. I gained 6 hours of life back this weekend because my 2 year old was insistent on watching the same film on loop! Top parenting I know, but needs must.
Thanks @thecatwwfc, in my 70's now and it's the family that have Netflix etc. and I tag on! Now which one has Disney?🤣
Many similarities with our situation when we were up for sale. A great watch and would have been brilliant if the Couhigs could have engineered a series in the same vein
For a smaller town with a smaller catchment area than High Wycombe, their attendance yesterday v Torquay United was 9,970. Something to think about!
Pleasure. Haha! I'm sure there will be ways to watch it on other platforms in the future.
Frustrating that there are so many now. In order to get the best you have to have all of them.
Sky is a waste of time but have found Netflix, Prime and Disney worthwhile so far.
All these subscriptions....
Costing a fortune!
Show no loyalty is the trick. Cancel one as soon as you see you are not watching it. Binge a series and ditch
On Disney you have Welcome to Wrexham and Only Murders in the Building. Worth the subscription for those
Apple TV has the excellent Bad Sisters
I’ve ditched Netflix as it is all catfishing documentaries and serial killers.
Sky I’ve ditched movies and sport not cos of content just the cost.
Whatever problems one might think Wycombe as a town may have, believe me they are nothing compared to Wrexham! Nothing there, nothing else to do and they have a considerable ‘hinterland’ to draw fans from, unlike us.
Wrexham also have Ryan Renolds et al to help swell the crows (even if they're not there?).
Didn't Gary Lineker's Goalhanger Films come and have a look around a week or so before this all happened, then never followed up? Ended up missing one of the most miraculous turns from relegation favourites to Championship promotion.
The time to ditch Netflix is when you find you struggle to find anything to watch, and just go back to watching a boxset you've seen 20 times.
Although when you start quibbling £7 for a month of content, and compare it to the £10 for a fairly poor 90mins watching Wycombe, it does seem a mad comparison.
4od and iplayer have some decent content, and free.
A slightly harsh but nonetheless interesting comparison @Malone. I've always compared things to the price of a pint so on that basis the figures you mention are well within reach. I currently can't drink alcohol at all due to medication and that must be saving me money!
My interaction with Netflix is almost exclusively spend half an hour scrolling around looking for something to watch by which time it's too late to start anything
I quite like Netflix, but then I do enjoy Brazilian & Korean & Japanese Sci-Fi & police procedurals, for similar reasons I like 4oD-Walter Presents & all their French, Belgium & Scandi Noire stuff.
I have Amazon Prime for the cheap fast postage, as well as shows like Bosch, Lord of The Rings-Rings of Power, Handmaidens Tale etc.
Other than that I use SFlix (via a VPN & heavily locked down with No-Script etc.) a slightly dodgy free streaming service that allows me to watch stuff from AppleTV, Disney+, as well as US dramas like Chicago Fire/Med/PD, New Amsterdam, FBI etc.
Very true Prime is just as bad. I was really looking forward to the Rings of Power but have given up on it. Looks great but the story is 💩.
Oops! My meds kicking in again.😉🤦♂️
Well, stone the crows, that took a bit of scrolling back to see what your medication was doing to you, @ValleyWanderer !
And my indifferent bird identification skills led me to look for a pigeon fancying connection. [Always strikes me as a rather strangely described hobby.]
There’s some really good stuff on Apple TV+ if you dig around a bit. We’ve enjoyed Severance, Slow Horses and Coda. we held our breath for 90 minutes watching Mass.
I will throw in Ted Lasso, Bad Sisters, The Morning Show, Black Bird and Five Days at Memorial to that list
Struggling to get into Bad Sisters, but loved Ted Lasso, Slow Horses & Severance, havent tried the others mentioned but will have a look at them
Such a shame the doc crew didn't hang around at Wycombe. At least we got the book.
As much as a Wycombe documentary would increase profile and probably our bank balance I don’t think I want to see one made. I don’t want to know the fact inside workings or the living room of a supporter.
It's along the lines of the "never meet your heroes" thing.
I'm happy enough watching their football playing, and then not knowing much else about them to be honest.
Watched a documentary on the murder of Saudi dissident reporter Jamal Kashoggi on Amazon prime, thought that was decent.
