I’ll take a point when we’re down to 10 but our league position belies our quality. I expect we will be top 8 by Christmas and yes you can mark my words.
Disappointed overall but playing 80 minutes with 10 men is not easy. Really odd to take Mehmeti off, an absolutely brilliant individual goal from him. Other than that we just tried to defend, which we did quite well, but one scrappy bit of play cost us as they didn’t really look like scoring.
Other random thoughts, Stryjek looks an excellent keeper. If Mawson and Tafazolli stay fit that’s a really, really strong pair. I’ll be controversial and say that is better than last season’s 3. Wing has still not really sparked this season and Horgan should feel a bit unlucky to have been dropped completely. Vokes can’t have been fit as I couldn’t understand AAH coming on, who looked quite poor today (but he is very young and inexperienced). Obita still looks not himself and will now likely be out for a while anyway.
If Vokes start next game and Hanlan was back soon, and both stayed fit for the season I’d be confident of the play offs.
Think you are being overly harsh, he is still learning his trade & played on Tuesday, he needs to get used to the intensity of men's football & playing twice a week. He has shown enough to suggest he will get there & has clealry impressed the coaching team & Vokes spoke very highly of him the other week.
Great effort to get a point with 10 men for over 90 minutes. Only disappointment for me was Wing, who seems to float on the periphery of the action and never gets stuck in. A luxury player perhaps, but under today's circumstances, a harder worker might have helped.
Agreed, I felt he was absolutely putting in a shift, but has a lot to learn as you say. A tough ask of him as well given the unavoidable lack of support up front for a fair chunk of his cameo.
Mehmeti was shattered, he had been chasing everything for an hour plus.
Obita was ill last weekend so probably isnt yet 100%, but I suspect will get back to his best sooner rather than later.
Horgan has been unlucky but suspect his skills etc. were not deemed the best fit for todays opponent, rahter than anyhting else.
Vokes is just coming back to fitness & the work rate he would be required to produce when we are down to 10 men was probably more than we wanted to risk. I suspect he would have got 10 minutes or so at the end if we had still had 11 on the field.
Lewis Wing reminds me of Stephen McGinn - relying on a reputation of being a skilful, ball-playing midfielder, half-hearted performances, rarely where the action is, flattering to deceive. What makes it worse is that Gareth rarely played McGinn, much preferring the energy and commitment of Luke O'Nien, while Wing is in the team ahead of Horgan, who provides so much more.
I was expecting Horgan to come on as soon as McCleary went off - he would have been able to thread through balls through to Mehmeti all match. The failure to properly adapt to the sending off was disappointing and, it turned out, a little complacent.
The biggest issue though is the failure to bring in a striker on loan. Al Hamidi is obviously not trusted to lead the line for more than 30 mins (and today showed why); De Barr is more suited to a game of dodgems than football; Mellor is a winger or, at best, a No10. So far this season we've come across two of our former players who signed for rivals this summer and did a job on us. It's a shame we didn't strengthen more ourselves.
Yeah, I thought it was a “cramp of convenience” which we seemed to develop a few of whenever FTFC were looking in the ascendant, but he looked awkward coming off at the end, hope it’s not serious.
I can only assume you didn’t watch the game to make a comment like that. We played for 94 minutes with ten men against a team who have lost only one game all season and are unbeaten at home including a draw v.Derby. We are four points off a play off place.

no doubt he’ll apologise to his team-mates but not sure a press conference is required.
I didn't say a press conference was required...
Not like you to be so positive Trev. We’re 14th.
Remember he was lucky to get away with an off-the-ball incident earlier this season (I think it was Bolton)?

Sorry but at this stage of his career, AAH is not up to the required standard. We needed to bring in an extra striker to cover for Vokes.
No-one should be too upset. We haven't fielded our best eleven even once yet.
Combine today's centre back combo with Vokes and we're getting there.
Ten heroes. Very hard to pick a man of the match.
Not at all sure we would have won easily with 11 men.

Exactly this, along with at least 2 bookings for dissent / getting riled by other players.
Al Hamadi substitute appearence was reminiscent of JP Pitmans shocker at Oxford a few years ago.
He looked unfit, lethargic and contributed next to nothing.

Extra disappointing when it's the second-most experienced member of the squad
We can always guarantee your pearls of wisdom within 15 minutes of the end of any game we don't win.

Come on brighten up. An excellent point considering we lost McCleary that early.

Yep, I can't believe anyone wouldn't have snatched the hands off the offer of a draw at 10mins in!
Just a shame that with his ban, including today that's 4 games he's out for. That's a month of games some times of the year!
Totally agreed @ChasHarps
Yep, best not to risk him too early if he’s not really ready for it. Definitely a morale booster even to see him on the bench though.
Obita was injured. He didn’t look like he was taken off due to effects of illness. Another player lost. Busy time for the medical team.

The Fleetwood striker who scored looked a handful. Where do they pick these unknown talents up from?
Well done to all for holding out for 80 minutes plus, I'm afraid GMac owes us one for that ! Utterly pointless and not needed.
Hoping Vokes will be ready to start next match, AAH just doesn't look ready yet.

Scored a very good header v.Bristol City but didn’t have any success today.
I am willing to give GMac the benefit of the doubt, especially not having even seen it.
