And this one
Not sure what to think after that.
Predicted a 2-0 loss and was feeling so pessimistic before kick-off, with no strikers, that I'd already binned-off going Tuesday evening as I expected a somewhat hostile terrace atmosphere.
Do I continue to be a grumpy git, if it brings results, or shall I cheer-up? What a conundrum.
That’s more like it Blues. Great game. Regards
Funny how @Wanderers82 and @trevor never ever post when we win.
I believe that is 5 out of our 8 goals from outside the area this season, beating even last season's torrid pace.
Last season Wycombe had the most goals scored from open play, who'd have thought that?
Been put. Just saw the result...and then read first few pages for a laugh.
I still think something is off around the place... 😂
This team is very confusing
It’s going to be interesting listening hearing what The Tykes fans on ‘Opposition View’ have to say about ‘old boys’ Scowen and Mawson, both showed them what they’ve been missing!
Totally. I thought absolute best scenario we would nick it by one goal but more likely lose. Superb performance!
Acquisition of two key players in the last week others coming back from injury and regaining match fitness. Marathon not a Sprint. We didn’t suddenly become a bad team in the last two weeks
Did not expect that at all. Went out to watch some local FA Cup action and tried not to be distracted by our score; passing acquaintance said "3-0 Wycombe, eh" with a chuckle and I assumed the worst. Fantastic result and a real tonic after the last couple of weeks.
It's not possible to contribute more than a 45 pound audiopass and some kit from O Neills living 350 miles away and unemployed thanks,@Malone you woeful chap.
Of course, @NorthumberlandBlue - the point @Malone is making is that you stated that you were "glad" that you didn't contribute any more than that to the club. It's not the amount, or the reasons, it's the bizarre sense of joy that went with it, which you chose to broadcast across the Gasroom. Not really surprising, therefore, that you should get picked up on it.
Is it? Consistency and fitness in defence has always been the key for me. Get that right and the players infront of them can threaten anyone.
I’d be tempted to play the back 5 again on Tuesday to get them gelling more but i imagine at least one of the 2 Cb will be rested.
So how far out was Gape? The official line is 50 yards, but I always feel these things are exaggerated, and Oakwell is 110 yards long. Maybe 35? 40?
Judging by the grass is cut in 6 yard blocks and he was not head on to the goal, I would say it’s at least 43/44 yards.
You can see seven clear blocks plus a yard and then the angle, maybe 45 at a push
Well thought out reply, cheers!
That was such a wonderful moment! Gape had a sterling game even without that, but that was the cherry on top of his display.
Fair enough. Alternatively, if we weren't sure about the width of the cut strips, it looked to me that he was at least another goal area outside the area, plus a bit more, or so it seemed. I could go 40 yards quite confidently, I reckon, but no more than 45 with equal confidence.
Spot on. Glad someone else got that.
We can all support the club with varying degrees of enthusiasm @LeedsBlue @Malone
I used to attend pretty much every game home and away 1989 to 1999, but don't deny my enthusiasm, interest and loyalty has waned over the subsequent decades.
In 20 years since 2002 only been to two games at Adams Park and once at Sunderland and Darlington.
Despite @bluntphil being brilliant at what he does I only listen to a dozen games a season, rarely view gasroon let alone comment these days.
Not everyone is a hardcore lifelong supporter.
In the old days a bad loss would ruin my weekend, but now ...
I will probably see how things are in a month or so, and nothing until then virtually or otherwise.
They have to be 6 yard strips because of the 18 yard box.
Just watched the highlights (https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12677881/barnsley-0-3-wycombe-league-one-highlights) and your six yard/strip estimate looks a good one, @wwfcblue, based on the fact that the box seems to comprise three of them. Good work!
Your reply overlapped with mine!
It's certainly not a bad thing to have the balance for footy not to ruin your weekend.
Fingers crossed we have such a good run you get drawn back into more frequent listens though. And maybe the occasional view online too. At least for midweekers if you don't want to mess with a vpn.
